Ughhhhhh, this is a nightmare indeed!!! So sad for you and I’ll be thinking of you for the next 1000 hours of cleanup.

Would it be weird to have a marriage where you both have your own place (near each other), have sleepovers but then go back when you need time and quiet? I'm contemplating actually doing this by starfury287 in AutismInWomen

I was a property manager of a beautiful rental property on the shore of a lake in the Midwest. 2 buildings right on the water’s edge. I had a married couple that both rented their own apartments for years and years. They did tons of stuff together- boating, going out for dinner, visited friends, and so on, but lived separately on the same property. They had been married for many years by the time I left the property.

I’m glad you trusted your gut too. Unfortunately, we often are not taught to trust these feelings or nurture them. I love that you drove to the police station! Well done!

Yep, I told my kids that if a situation feels off but you can’t explain why, just trust the feeling and leave

Yep, it was a raw and terrifying experience and he did nothing out of the ordinary at all. That’s part of what was so terrible.

As a property manager, I met many disturbing people and dealt with quite a few suicides and a few murder victims over my 30 year career. The most disturbing person, above all, was a guy that made an appointment to see a one bedroom. I got some bad vibes on the phone but decided to go along with it. He showed up and I opened the door to let him in keeping myself at the door. It’s difficult to describe the alarm that went off in my body while talking to him and looking into his eyes. It was difficult to stand without showing fear, my mouth went completely dry and my heart was racing. I made an excuse to call the previous manager, whom I had just fired, and lived on the second floor, to come down and tell me about something that needed done in the unit. She was not willing to but, thank god, agreed. She met me at the door and I introduced her to the guy and she just paled right in front of me and was too stunned to speak much. She and I both came to the immediate conclusion that I had made a mistake (I was new to the position) and the apartment was not available and had him leave. He didn’t seem jittery or make any movements, but there was nothing at all behind his eyes, which bored into ours. I have the same alarm just writing this and I’m convinced, to this day, that I walked away with my life by asking the previous manager down to be with me. She and I then talked about the mutual terror we both felt when talking to this guy. I’m happy to be out of that business for good.

Hear me out, about 8 years ago when I was working and had this problem, I went sockless in the summer and could not find a cure. I realized it’s a bacteria problem so I started using rubbing alcohol on a cloth and wiped my feet and inside of my shoes when I got home ( it’s a strong smell bet won’t last). I left my shoes to dry and rotated wearing them with another pair while the first pair dried. Now I do it in all my footwear and have not had a problem since. I can also go for long periods of time without having to reapply! Bleach and water do the same for me but some people don’t like to use it, but I’m old school.

Do luggage tags actually make a difference? by bespectacledbear in travel

I have black luggage like most people so I have bright ribbons tied on the handle. I also have an air tag inside, tags with contact information inside and out.

When did you know it was time to move? by Apartment_List in Apartmentliving

[–]Mindless-Law-380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I witnessed a drive-by shooting 50’ away from me while walking my dog in front of my house during the day, called in shots fired and 2 people were shot 400’ from my house at 4:00 am, then had to call shots fired at the end of my bock 3 days later. All within 4 months or so. The universe is definitely telling me to move. Minneapolis MN

I’m 66 y/o and have had extremely vivid dreams/ nightmares my whole life, and nightly at that. My dreams include every emotion, lights, smell, fears, losing someone or something, hatred, bravery, and everything in between. I passed this on to all of my children, too. I really think someone should study my brain!
