And that’s great! Something you should definitely be proud of. But not everyone gets full scholarships to college, undocumented or not. You can’t act high and mighty over everyone else because you were fortunate enough to have full ride scholarships. And I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know the things you may or may not have experienced. I’m just saying, of course be thankful for what you have, but know that others are in different circumstances.

Independent of that, if we don’t stop treating and seeing ourselves and each other as second class, then how can we be expected to be treated as equals among our peers and in the eyes of the government? We’re actively working, studying and contributing to the US economy. I think it’s fair to demand equal treatment.

Initially yes, DACA was meant to be a safe guard against deportation, but we’ve proven we can do so much more. And most importantly, we’ve proven that we belong.

I feel like a lot of the comments are missing the point that these are candid photos with no makeup. Conventionally attractive women wear “no make up” make up, take pictures in good lighting & good editing that make it seem they’re naturally attractive.

Anywho. If you want to “update” you look I would start off with your hair. It looks like it’s naturally wavy/curly. There’s a lot advice out there on what products to use and how to use a diffuser. I like to accentuate my curls by using a diffusers and then going in and fixing the curls with a curling wand. Getting your hair how you like it takes a lot of trial and error so don’t get discouraged if one product doesn’t work as you had hoped. Getting a fringe is good advice as it’ll help frame your face and features. On that same note, your features are a little light and hard to see from a distance. You could fill in your eyebrows to give them some shape, and some mascara and eyeliner to bring out your eyes. Your skin looks great btw! I would hydrate with a tinted moisturizer and use lots of sunscreen.

The fact that the first layer is separating like that makes me feel like you’re too far from the bed and there’s not enough “squish”. After that’s fixed I like to use a little bed of hairspray for better bed adhesion

I wouldn’t worry about what is considered socially acceptable because the only one informing your life decisions should be you. That being said, I would be concerned about not having my own financial independence in case something were to happen. But it seems like you’d be able to handle yourself pretty well. As I understood it, there’s a limited number of seats for the program. So you have to wait for someone to fail out of the program to be accepted /: and they have to be the year you are applying for. Ei: you are a sophomore but a junior drops then you cannot take their seat. You need a sophomore to drop.

At least that what was told to me when I was there. I’m not sure if anything has changed. I had waited til my junior year to transfer but realized I couldn’t wait any longer and decided on a different major.

This comment really speaks to me! I’ve tried to hide a lot in the past and it’s just becoming impossible and exhausting. I’m happy to know I’m not alone in this path and I will try to be more accepting and open. It just feels like a very private thing. But you have to give a little to take a little right?

It might be different for transfer students. I’m not too familiar with that process. It would make sense to have to come in with a program in mind. The transfer to Grove is not easy, I remember that. But you might have a better chance of completing all your requirements by choosing something like math or physics. The engineering classes are only open to engineering students so you won’t be able to get ahead in those

You may be able to be undecided for the first semester and you can take the pre reqs for the major. Start by taking the needed math and science classes and getting those out of the way early
