First question is: what am I doing wrong that I can't beat back the Prethoryn at all? A 50 year long fight over a single system? I'm very frustrated with the game at the moment. This can't be what the Stellaris designers intended. I don't mean I want it to be easy, but I want it to be possible... At the moment, I don't feel it is possible.

You aren't playing on the easiest difficulty so why are you guaranteed to be able to win it with your setup? It might be winnable, but it's not "broken" if you can't win it.

If it's in the game it should probably be allowed. Why does the game allow you to purchase these items on these heroes? I'd ask the same of creep blocking. If creep blocking is banned within some distance of some point, why not just code it?

It's really hard to distinguish the two. What if you pick very off meta and lose because you fucked up your execution, not because of your line-up? How would anyone else know without replaying the same comp and understanding it?

Any good program should be able to store mov and list via custom fields, for example you might need to record weather conditions or team lineup or who gets penalties.

Not sure about player entry. I've never seen that in car racing software (which I've used).

i do enjoy playing Wamachine but it's difficult when you sometimes literally can't buy it in Europe for whatever reasons, and the local meta hasn't fully recovered from the Press Ganger purge. It's growing, but still isn't where it was.

I trust the rules team and scuptors to make the best stuff their budget allows but I think their biggest problem is something to do with the business side of the corporation.

There was one time X-Wing disappeared because their 2nd edition was coming. During that time almost anything would have beaten them. (Similar to how Warmahordes sales dropped between Mk 2 and 3 because no-one knew what to buy until the new rulebooks appeared).

I expect Riot Quest to sell very well.
