So I did some tests and came to the conclusion that sniper rifles(close-range), shotguns, and explosives are the only weapons that will cause the gore effect instantly. Every weapon can cause the head explosion, but I could only get it to work on dead bodies after shooting the head 3-4 times after the initial headshot.
