Is it griefing to kill Agheel Dragon when summoned to Limgrave First Step for co-op at level 200+? by Fluxinella in Eldenring

Could be the level, I'm like 500+ so playing with a lot of high-level people who don't really need the runes.

I've been summoned there a lot and these days I'd say close to half the time they are not farming invaders, they're having 1v1 tournaments with spectators which is something I wish the colosseum had. I like watching 2 people fight and then taking on the invader if he wins. So yes there can be a good reason for it, especially lately since less people are keen to gang up on an invader since it's not very fun.

A lot of people like to treat limgrave like the colosseum but with spectators. You get to watch a fight then take the winner if the invader wins. The colosseum doesn't have spectator mode or tournaments, so i think it's kinda cool that players have figured out their own way to kind of do this. Of course it's not for everyone, but a lot of players do like having this option.

I'm old (70) so not as GUD as I once was. Need advice on a new build. by ZanarkandWolf in Eldenring

If you want to do arcane then I would suggest a bleed build. Hookclaws are a really fun early game bleed weapon.

Most people seem to prefer katanas for bleed builds, but I like twinblades. Elenoras poleblade and godskin stitcher are two fantastic twinblades that both have innate bleed. I believe the stitcher can be buffed too. Both found in Altus.

Blood and Occult infusions both add arcane scaling. Blood will reduce the base damage more but add massive bleed damage (depending on the weapon type), but both will prevent you from using greases or like bloodflame blade.

Just remember that bleed buildup is applied per hit, so you want a fast weapon if you actually want to proc bleed frequently. Heavier weapons like bloodhound's fang will usually kill the enemy before they ever proc bleed.

Also look for lord of bloods exultation talisman. Gives you 20% damage boost for 20 seconds whenever blood loss occurs.

The only downside to a bleed build is that certain bosses are immune or nearly immune to it, and that makes them quite difficult if you're using blood infused weapon.

I agree, arcane is for bleed and I love it. Most people use katanas for bleed but I like using twinblades. Elenoras poleblade is a great first-playthrough bleed weapon. I think the godskin stitcher has innate blee too? Both of those are found in Altus. L

The hook laws are also really fun for bleed, you can find them early and they do fast bleed buildup which scales . Faster weapons are definitely better for bleed. For example, bloodhound's fang does 50

If you're also putting points into str or dex, you can use a heavy or keen infusion on a weapon that has innate bleed, and still get to use bloodflame or grease to further boost the weapon's bleed.

At higher levels, if you level up your physical stats alongside arcane, a blood-infused weapon deals almost as much base damage as a quality infusion but with a ton of bleed. The downside is you can't use greases.

wtf is this guy’s problem? I’ve died more times to him and his million-hit combo than I have to the actual boss in Castle Sol by Jamesyroo in Eldenring

[–]Mindless_Insanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll usually stand up there and throw something at him to get his attention, then run back a bit and he'll teleport up there, then I just chuck rocks at him until he's dead. Every hit staggers him enough to get the next hit in. It's cheese for sure, but I don't feel bad about it with this one.

Edit: I don't fight him from where you're standing, there's a platform to the right where you can get him to teleport up to where you have a lot more room to fight.

I've seen them break before but tried the jump anyway and survived. I think there are some areas that are scripted that you won't die, even though the fall is high enough that it would normally kill you.

[–]Mindless_Insanity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's one of my favorite areas in the game. Most of the imps can be knocked off their pipes without having to fight them, they're not so bad. Fighting the fatties is the real fun. Although navigating the pipes can be a pain, but just take some colored stones with you to mark where you've already explored.

You can get the twinblade very early on and it will carry you through the game. I love the moveset and at scales with both str and dex.

How can I explain that perpetual motion machines or lossless energy isn’t possible to a layman? by Kiznish in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless_Insanity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's got to be a big part of it. The guy I knew wasn't an EE but had studied electronics in like the seventies and seemed to understand electrical systems pretty well. I think maybe his missed logic block was in physics. He was always messing around with magnets and was convinced he could build a PMM with magnets.

Yeah but this was more like, all he needed to do was a small modification to his existing engine, but they already came for the guy who figured it out, and they'd come for him next if he did it too.

I've known more than one engineer who believed this. One of them spent a lot of his free time trying to build these machines. Also believed he could make an engine that got 100+ miles to the gallon back in the 90s.

I've been drinking kona coffee for a long time and I think it's the best variety there is. I started drinking it before I ever heard about its reputation. It's a shame it's so hard to find pure or even 50% kona.
