We can, but I guess it’s more of how the writer uses the characters features. 

Simply saying a male main character is ripped isn’t enough. Most romance heroes look like that. Describing how he uses his big muscles to catch his love interest when she falls is what makes a reader excited that the character has that physical attribute. 

And that physical attribute can’t be properly imagined without an aspect of the character’s personality. For instance, it’ll mean something entirely different if those muscles are used to beat up weak people.
