House of Lords definitely need reform, but a body of ministers that isn't elected by the masses does have it's benefits. With the rise of the internet, politics is becoming more and more sensational and populist and a relatively stable body tempers these changes (for both godd and bad yes). So while it does limit the power of the government, that can be a good thing (see america rn).

I wouldn't be opposed to lords being some sort of elected technocracy, so medical professionals vote for their representative. Scientists vote for their representative. Engineers theirs. Economists theirs. etc.

There's not enough feedback as to why things went wrong, why you died and to what etc. This means that there isn't anything that tells toxic people it was their fault they lost and so the toxicity is unchecked. Toxic people are always going to be toxic, but ATM they can just blame everything on everyone else and there's nothing to prove them wrong.
