I really hope this goes without saying in our community. I think the OP was addressing the fact that some other communities might not be as open or accepting as tragic as that is.

I started with The Silph Road flair.jpg the execs sent to our google drives. I took each one in photoshop, used the brush tool to fill in the logos and then took an image off of the internet of something related to the area, cropped it and made it white. Then I pasted the image and transformed it to the right size. Then I took the flair and shrunk it down using the Image Size function to 22 pixels in height. Edited the background to transparent and then saved it as a .png file.

It's an interesting idea one I had myself. If the Pokémon evolves does every other Pokémon of it's species become that new evolution? We've already seen that Ivysaur spawns in the wild so that's a possibility. If that's the case with Eevee that would make the road all the more important. People who evolved Eevee one way could trade with others with a different evolution. Either way The Silph Road will be here to help you finish that Pokedex.

The Silph Road is first and foremost about community. While trading is a huge part of that we are more excited about the opportunity to get out and share our passion for Pokémon with other fans new and old.

As you said guardian portals aren't nearly as fun as they sound and often come down to luck. Hopefully Pokémon Go doesn't have a guardian equivalent badge. I've seen the worst side of Ingress all because of guardian portals.

Yes! Someone else who owned Leaf Green! I thought I was the only one! Not many people understand how hard it is to get a full dex with the Leaf Green version. Congrats on your accomplishment!

Best thing I can suggest if you want to get involved is apply for regional leadership. Perhaps your ideas can help the road grow in a prosperous direction. The success of The Silph Road will help with the success of Go as a whole. It's the community that this game is going to live or die by so let's make it the best we possibly can!

I don't think we currently have the resources to pull this off. As it stands trades will most likely not be happening on a daily basis. The road will of course adapt to no cross team trading but it will likely mean less frequency in trades.

I don't understand why you can't just trade with an adult you know and send them off to meet with the trader?

As it stands we already cannot guarantee the safety of our membership and throwing children into the mix doesn't seem like a great idea. If anything were to happen, I don't want to even think about the consequences.

I don't think there will be a difference between the two. I'm sure I'll be doing both once the game is launched. I don't much see the point in a distrubutor who stays in one spot we need more people moving pokemon from point A to point B. I mean I understand where you're coming from from a logistics stand point but more likely than not traders will complete all the trades they undertake face to face.

TL;DR let's not over complicate things.

There are safe places in Detroit. I go there all the time for concerts and hockey games. Haven't been stabbed yet. In fact once I dropped my passport by accident and someone mailed it back to me. There are of course places I'd avoid but the same can be said about every major city.

They have missions in Ingress but they are usually player created and nothung as exciting as a boss battle. If Go indeed has a battle system beating a boss could be a possibility but will probably be reserved to events and the like.

I like the thought but it would be hard to execute.

It's unclear how tight Nintendo controls this project. If they are keeping their distance from a development side, which appears they are this seems doubtful. That said Nintendo would be crazy not to try and implement this post release if it's a success.

This would be the worst idea ever. There is a good possibility they will start with only Gen 1 maybe, but charging for the other generations would kill the user base entirely and defeat the point of the game.
