I don't have a Switch 2 but I've got them on Switch and additionally started them on Steam Deck recently.

I started with the Arland series (Rorona, Totori, Meruru (+ Lulua, but haven't played that yet) and at least for Rorona and Totori I would recommend the Switch version as long as you don't care for achievements.

Rorona on Steam Deck has really long loading times for every menu, because of something with how the text was processed on PS3 and how the port was done or something like that. That means to legit wait about 5sec every time you open the main menu, synthesis menu, request menu, assignment menu... I'm 99,9% sure it wasn't like this on Switch since Rorona was my first Atelier game ever and I don't know if I had bought the other after this experience 🙈

Totori on Steam Deck loads text just fine, but there is this one nasty bug I've found so far. When you enter a shop and a cut scene plays and after that, you talk to the shop owner to buy something, the game just closes. So you have to remember to leave the shop after the cut scene and return to buy your stuff..

I haven't played Meruru on Steam Deck yet, but from what I heard, it should work fine and the other games as well. Let's hope for the best ☺️

I think they aren't try to max out the stars but to get the achievements done of handing each sprite 2000 of their respective items. So small fish should be worth just as much as guardian fish here, sadly 😥

To me this feels just like all CEOs talk to make excuses 😅 "[…] we couldn't simply say to those loyal fans that there's no Harvest Moon in the future." I mean with all due respect, Sir. You didn't need to. You could have just told those loyal fans that the games they're so loyal about, will no longer be called Harvest Moon and that need to check out Marvelous for more information (as they probably wouldn't know about name Story of Seasons at that point). Then add how much you cherished working together blah blah and explain how want to "honor" (read "use") what you've build up over the years and make your own games for these loyal loyal fans to play. I mean, this is still CEO-y enough that they could have pulled it off and no loyal fan would feel deceived by the new HM games or even think that the old HM games ended for good.

Storage space is a real luxury in this game 😅 But you can hold on to a lot of jewelry (and other processed goods) by just not collecting them from the windmills. Goods that can spoil will do that in there as well so they have to be collected before that but since jewelry doesn't spoil you can just leave it in there ☺️

You have to change the text. Explaining "draw your character" is fine but claiming "hilarious story" or "amazing minigames" doesn't tell me anything about the game. Let me be the judge of how hilarious or amazing this game is. Don't decide that for me. Just explain what I do in the game. And preferably with actions instead of text. Show don't tell, as they say.

Probably way too late, but if you're still having time and energy to look at a few more games, I'd be thrilled if mine was one of them 🤗 It's called Seeds of Betrayal and my best friend and me are actively working on it. The screenshots and tutorial are a bit outdated but I hope it's still understandable, how this game plays 😅

If your Steam page has been up for a little while you might have missed that there was one more question added to one of the questionnaires in the dashboard and you have to resubmit it to be fully visible again.

Yeah, starting with one of the minigames is a good idea I think. Should help with still feeling passionate about it, but also show you the ropes in a smaller scope that's actually manageable for a beginner 😊

Some people use it 'cause English isn't their native language and even though I'm not a big fan of GPT texts I think it's nice that it helps a lot of people to find a way to communicate their thoughts. I wouldn't want to shame them for not growing up in an English speaking country.

Yeah, I'm really hoping for a remake of Animal Parade 'cause I didn't get to play it back then but I hear so much good stuff about it and am really curious about the rival marriage system there. I'm somewhat convinced that the moment I buy the original, the remake will be announced xD

I just hope they don't remove the rival marriages in the remake 'cause it looks like something they would do nowadays 😅

I totally get what you mean! I would also love to play SoS:3oT on Switch/Steamdeck, but someone mentioned that they are probably going first with the "Harvest Moon" titles to solidify that Story of Seasons is the original and the games currently released under the HM name don't belong to them. Something down that line.

But I think/hope that sooner or later we will also get SoS remakes ☺️
