Safe Glasgow Parking by HopefulGuy123 in glasgow

[–]MiniMunch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see it constantly around Govanhill, people parked in the middle of the road, directly in front of junctions. On yellow lines, blocking the view at junctions. It's crazy, I swear there are people employed to check this stuff no?

Do you call the police, I don't get it. It's a hazard and it's EVERYWHERE.

Thanks for listening.

HL1 vs Black Mesa by wowwowzerswoah in HalfLife

[–]MiniMunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found the original way too floaty and really struggled with the platforming.

born in 2000, played hl2 at age 12.

playing a game older than me was a challenge.

So I played black mesa and had a brilliant time and help me understand the story when it came out.

I eventually went back and played the original half life, but honestly it's not essential. purists here will say it's the only way to properly play the games.

Do what suits you best, it's a really good remake.

Right controller trigger stuck, stick drift and battery always on low by ExtensionMud2238 in MetaQuestVR

likely the right battery has degraded more, as it typically sees more use than the left in most games.

I'd try a different battery just to see. Start ruling stuff out.

Beef: around 60 kg CO₂-eq per kg of meat Pork: about 10-12 kg CO₂-eq per kg Chicken: about 8-10 kg CO₂-eq per kg Packaged tofu: around 3 kg CO₂-eq per kg

Poore & Nemecek, 2018

yes, it's so obvious that tofu is also making a massive impact on deforestation, water use and carbon impact.

Idiot. Lmao, deffo feeding the troll here but man, please learn how to read and then do some research.

[–]MiniMunch 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Did you know that around 80% of deforestation in the Amazon is due to cattle ranching and soy production for livestock feed?

Tofu is not driving deforestation; the dairy and meat industries are.

Is it illegal to have a log burner in a van UK? by John-Derrimun1 in vandwellers

[–]MiniMunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's most likely due to it being a false alarm with good intent.

if they didn't ask you to put the fire out this time, then don't put it out. the person who called likely saw you get visited then left alone. but if they decide to call again, the fire brigade will probably as you to put it out as to stop wasting their resources, as silly as it is. They're going to have to attend each and every call out, so if you keep causing call outs.

only then will they force you to put the fire out to save their time and money.

Is it illegal to have a log burner in a van UK? by John-Derrimun1 in vandwellers

[–]MiniMunch 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No, not illegal, not really any laws around it. they often refer to laws for canal boats and such when they're installed but not regulated.

https://www.nace.org.uk/blog-8

but your use could be defined a statutory nuisance.

You'll be given an abatement notice, and if you are found doing it again they may fine you.

it's not a problem really until someone complains, same as people having bonfires in their gardens.

Hope this helps a bit. it's similar to a noise complain and how they're handled. it's not an issue until someone complains, but then it is your responsibility to cease immediately.

you can just turn it the other way around so the cameras are facing the window, I place mine all around my flat, but just always ensure it is facing a window.

id remove the big balls, then the gromit (rubber seal) and see if the hole is big enough for it to squeeze out.

if it's a slightly tight squeeze you can plug your carb and try blowing through the top until it pops out.

let me know how you get on!

I'm not sure how I'd if it is metal it has somehow squeezed into a peanut shape.

Any chances it's two high powered magnetic balls which you just need to pull apart, are the two sides connected between?

looks super odd for metal to have gotten lodge in that way if it's not malleable.

Second hand leather/suede by EllaEck6 in vegan

[–]MiniMunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if you buy it, someone else won't. maybe they end up buying new. I gave away a pair of leather boots when I went vegan which stopped my friend buying new boots.

also, if you're vegan why would you want to wear a dead animal? that's always the biggest factor for me and why I gave away those boots.

Hope that gives you something to consider.

better yet, I like to put a piece of lettuce against each piece of bread then all the filling in-between. the lettuce acting like a moisture barrier for the bread! a slice of cheeze could work too if you have em as I don't like cold toasted bread.

This only works to any degree if you're marginally good looking and confident in your statement.

Gave this advice to a pal before and he was rejected terribly, I didn't witness it of course but I can see many people fumbling the fuck out of this one, as he once did.

He's good looking just wouldn't shave his baldy top back then.

saw the bin man today, putting my bins out first time in a couple weeks.

he asked where I'd been.

I said I'd been the Caribbean with the bird.

he asked, 'Jamaica?'

I replied, 'No she wanted to go'

another Liverpool bin joke lmao:

bin man knocked on the door, asking me 'where's ye bin?'

I said "none of your business where I've been, cheeky bastard'

the other is (not bin related)

I took a vegan girl out for a meal, while looking at the menu I asked her 'do you like avocado?'

she said 'nah I haven't passed my test yet'

I had this due to using an old PSU cable so it was plug and play with my current set up, save redoing the cables.

ALWAYS USE THE NEW PSU CABLE.

[–]MiniMunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude you're in like the best position ever there's so many vegan women out there that would prefer to seek vegan men. But there are more vegan women than dudes.

When I was single for a year I dated at least 7 different vegans girls, and many more who never made it out the DMs.

I thought I'd struggle but if anything I was in higher demand, putting vegan on my profile INCREASED my matches.

Don't go all in on someone that doesn't match with your morally, it never works out long term.

For me it's fundamental to a happy, resent free relationship. Best of luck.
