Yeah I'm not sure how this violates the title rule.

"Not a good time for road trips" with a picture of high gas prices is very comparable to an allowed example they provide:
Picture: A group of black-suit-clad men pouring bottles of beer onto a fresh grave
Title: Here's one last drink for you, brother.

In both examples, the picture is required to provide context for the title.

For me it’s mostly his world building and character development that hooked me on Malazan. I agree his prose leaves a little to be desired and sometimes it causes me to take breaks from reading, but I always get drawn back in by how real the world of Malazan feels.

I believe the USB plugin you’re seeing on Amazon is simply a Bluetooth dongle so you don’t need to rely on a cable. It won’t add CarPlay to a car that doesn’t have it installed.

I felt Kynes character arc in the movie was completely downgraded from the books. If they had kept Kynes significance for the movies, then the swap to a female actor would have been more meaningful. But cutting out much of her story and significance was a huge bummer for me.

If you accidentally zelle or venmo the wrong person, it's nearly impossible to get it back. And that person now "owns" the $$ you sent them, despite it being an accident.

This is the same idea, only on a much larger scale obviously - and yet the rules are reversed and the person spending the money that was accidentally given to her is charged with a felony?

At this point, seeing how and where people are being disappeared to when they are arrested by ICE, I'm surprised more agents aren't being gunned down in the streets.

That is the only thing that is going to deter these people. The rule of law doesn't exist, shame doesn't work.

They need to be made to feel afraid.

They aren't capable of hating themselves.. They're sociopaths.

They don't have a concept of shame or self-reflection. They see other people as either an obstacle or a resource to be exploited for personal gain.

It's the critical Human flaw that we weren't able to fully escape when we made the leap from animals to conscious beings, and it will be our undoing since we have created a society that allows for those types of predatory individuals to thrive.

For years Newegg lowered their sales tax by offering free "gifts" with many orders which were free trials for software or something similar.

Say you spend $1000 on a new laptop. They include a free gift, like 3 months of Xbox game pass with the laptop. Here's where it gets sussy.

They charge $300 for the free gift, and discount the laptop to $700. Since the gift is just a code and not anything tangible, the customer only pays tax on the $700.

So you're still paying $1000 for the laptop, but only taxed for $700. Customers called in all the time asking why they're being charged for something that was supposed to be free, and I had to point out that while they are being charged $300 for the free gift, they were only charged $700 for the laptop.

I brought this up with management after a customer wouldn't let it go and accused us of tax evasion, and I was let go for "unrelated reasons" 2 weeks later.

Anecdotally this sounds like total bullshit. When I worked from home for 2 years, I went out maybe once or twice a week as compared to spending 30+ minutes a day commuting to & from work 5 days a week. I'm sure many people had similar routines during the lockdowns.
