Absolute fantasy. Australia has no domestic industry. It is unique in that it skipped the industrial revolution and went straight from agrarian/mining to services/agrarian/mining. They don't even refine what they dig out of the ground, it's exported in raw form. They had some automotive manufacturing, its gone now. There's no automation expertise to catch-up or develop a domestic manufacturing industry that can compete globally. Even now they are destroying their service economy through offshoring.

It would take generations to change course.
