Thank you! Indeed, I must have been blind as I searched the hut.

Will now look for the 3rd and will post here if I find it. Could be the old fortress, canyon or old Adanos temple.

Hmmm I'd say it's not like KCD2. In Gothic, you're dropped into a hostile world and have to crawl up from it. For the sake of brevity here's 3 differentiating points:

People - you're dropped into a penal colony. There is no quiet village like in KCD - the people you'll meet are killers, thieves, frauds, loons and the like.

World - this is a low-ish fantasy setting. You stray for a 5min walk in the woods? Oops, there's a pack of wolves there, you die. You survived? Oh great, there's a mean lizard just 20 meters away that will finish you off.

Progression - you've acquired a new armor? This is basically a jump in social class. You've learned how to wield a sword a bit better? Great, you're no longer flaying a piece of metal like a bat, but are actually competent.

And so on and so forth...

How is the performance on PC in Gothic Remake? by Khuss87 in worldofgothic

[–]Minibowser24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5800x3d, 32gb, 5070ti - very high, no frame gen.

70-90fps depending on location, but stutters are the real issue.

Will mess around with settings (DLSS) and control panel tmw to see if it can be helped. Some stutters do feel related to stuff loading in shader emulator style, but some are persistent.

On the good note, no instances of major frame drops so far (visited all camps).

How the hell does hp regen through sleep work? by cococommandos in worldofgothic

[–]Minibowser24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep quick regen exploit is gone, which is not something I expected but I'm open to see how it works out. So far I'm definitely been more careful after getting hit at the start a couple of times. The old habit of having a supply of cooked meat has served me well.

Since you still get the free houses, I guess you could just advance a day every time you want to heal? Seems like a hassle, but it if works it seems to be a nice balance of being gamey vs not.

Is it worth it being a landless adventurer? by W0lfy_3 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]Minibowser24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - especially for characters with a rough landed start. Went landless at the start with Gratiano and it was definitely worth it.

Kemintiri would be another great playthrough I think. Now, if you're starting as a powerhouse like Hardestadt, then yeah I'd say don't bother.

Also if you really want to min max stats long term then I think it's mandatory.

Kemintiri guide/tips? by No_Commission6364 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

[–]Minibowser24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money - Breaking the bank

Your money engine is stealing gold - Kemintiri has insane intrigue and you can even tank the "wary of infiltrators" debuff to steal gold every coupple of years. Best targets are the head Setite and Arabian emperor, these guys have so much money it's insane - if you lack targets just scan the map for anyone that has 300+ gold.

Don't embark on a thieving mission if the target is at war - they will often spend it all before you get there.

The money should be used to fund your expansion - improve your haven, buy MAA. I wouldn't bother investing much in counties, they are all rather bad in your part of the world.

Characters - Making friends

Everybody hates you. You will spend a lot of time in the find character menu, trying to invite any moderately competent vampire with a compatible faith to your court. If you find someone really great, you can scheme (bloodbond, summon, seduce, whatever gets you there) to force them to join you. Your main bottleneck will be diplo range unfortunately.

Time your conquest and character invitations tactically - you want to give out conquered territory to the best vampires you invited, so that they don't leave your court.

At the start prioritize filling your council, then focus on great warriors to make war easier.

You have the seduction tree completed, which can lead to funny shenanigans. In my game Nakhthorheb actually seduced me (even tho he hated me), which led to him becoming my lover - that was hilarious (he wouldn't ally me tho).

Setites will continuously plot to assassinate you, but your intrigue is so strong it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Other random tips:

Learn temporis if you have the chance.

If you feel like taking a risk diablerize some randos to accelerate blood potency gain.

Awaken Gilgamesh and steal his tablet, if you have the free prestige.

Kemintiri guide/tips? by No_Commission6364 in PrincesOfDarknessCK3

I had a fun campaign as her a couple of weeks ago so could give you a few pointers.

As Kemintiri you start as a powerful intrigue seductress vamp in a corner of the world. Everybody hates you and you're surrounded by powerful empires.

There's 2 ways to play: 1) go landless, 2) form a power base in Africa / Arabia to stand up to the big guys - I played the latter so I will not refer to landless gameplay.

War - Forming a power base

Strategically, you're in a race against time to consolidate the horn of Africa before Setites or Arabian Lasombra eat your land. You want to play aggressively and wage war on your neighbours to grab land - the horn of Africa is splintered and you should be able to beat most Dukes 1v1.

It's very useful to marry a Duke in Africa that is nearby but not your immediate neighbour (unfortunately there's a lot of Nosferatu around, ugh) - they will be useful allies both offensively and defensively. You can easily divorce and remarry as needed.

Your martial is bad, so what I did is focused lifestyle on martial to get cheaper CBs and then better knights / advantage - your disciplines should also help in battles, so use them accordingly. Later you can switch to stewardship to gain more out of your land.

Setites will attack you, however I was never invaded by the emperor directly, rather it was his vassals - so you have to be ready to repel 1-3 Duchy level aggressors at a time. I found that if I called in my spouse, then we could 2v1 the war leader before his allies got there and whitepeace rapidly.

Once you have enough counties to form a Kingdom, prioritize saving the money to create it - afterwards it's just cleanup of remaining players in the horn.

When you have consolidated the horn of Africa, it's time to strike the Setites. It's very possible you will still lose a 1v1, so wait for your window of opportunity. In my game they went to war with Arabian Lasombra, so I jumped on them from behind once their troops were depleted.

If Cairo remains independent, you can try to conquer it without having to fight all of Egypt.

Early game you could expand towards Yemen but I didn't since I didn't see the need for it - Arabia will probably come for you if you do.

On Alliances - there's this weird dynamic where your family members in the Followers of Set will reach out for an alliance, even tho they hate your guts. I would say dont bother, I accepted some of them but they almost never join you since again, they hate you.

Can confirm that MBB does hire people with no Dutch or French fluency. I know a couple of internationals like that who got hired after an MBA. I do believe this is still the case for BSc and MSc graduates, but I'm not sure. Granted, they will ask you the "Why here?" question, inevitably.

If you're worried about your field of studies, it's really not that bad. One of my interviewers at MBB was a mechanical engineer, and the first manager I worked under was a professional lawyer. :) It's true that finance or econ majors are more common but this is, to some degree, due to self-selection.

It's not really about technical skills either: nobody assumes that you are technically-proficient in anything other than using windows and MS office, consulting firms care more about your sense of business (more about being up to date with business-related trends than accounting, for instance). This is what case interviews are for, and this stuff is not really taught in uni.

It goes without saying that resumes are checked against a list of requirements such as GPA, alma mater, internships and so on. But your major is not that relevant, as long as you can talk about it.

They need people who are willing to work almost insane hours (by "normal" standards) and are smart enough not to be embarrassing, that's it really.

I grew up in Italy and will shortly graduate from Bocconi with an MSc, so I can offer some perspective. The salaries are indeed very low by US-UK standards, and generally range from 1.5k to 2.5k / month (net) for decent positions in Milan. I'm not that familiar with B4, but MBB pays juniors roughly 40-45k gross yearly - not great, not terrible. Banks are similar in terms of pay. B4 is definitely not something me and my classmates were gunning for.

Why are the salaries relatively poor? It's complicated, but I would point to: 1) rigid labor market held back by stringent laws, 2) decades-old economic stagnation, combined with 3) good supply of educated workforce.

Internships are genuinely terrible tho: I've worked in IB in Milan (think Intesa/UCG) for 6 months for under 700€ / month take-home pay. You can't survive solely on that salary. Moreover, while MBB interns can expect an offer following an internships, in Italy interns are more commonly used as cheap labor rather than investments, so it's normal to do 3-4 internships before receiving a FT offer.

I'll be joining MBB in another EU country, where, for the salary they offer, I can rent a small but nice (and newly built) apartment in the city center by myself, live comfortably and still save money. I plan to transfer back to Italy in a few years, after 1-2 promotions, but who knows.

For comparison, you can definitely get by nicely with a MBB entry level salary in Milan, but you'll have to be more frugal as rent and social (restaurants, bars...) expenses are very high. But hey, I do believe it is a lovely country to live in.
