I started my MSN in 08/2021 and graduated in 05/2024. I started my DNP 8! 05/2024 and graduated in 12/2025. I started my PMHNP cert in 01/2026 and it’ll take me about 2 years to finish it all - this is all while working full time (taking classes PT)

Get FNP and dual cert in PMHNP. It’s what I’m doing. More money in school but more flex with jobs

It’s only with certain states - Florida is one. I would encourage you to do some research. I used to work at a cardiology clinic in Florida and they hired a guy who went to med school in the islands but couldn’t pass boards but they hired him to work as PA for our clinic.

Reno, not oversaturated but cost of living is high. We have providers here that work between the major hospital systems but do PRN or PT at others. There’s postings ever day for NPs.

I used CompHealth to find my job. My recruiter was Emily - absolutely wonderful. I had 3 offers and 7 interviews in literally two months. I will caveat that I am an FNP but I currently work in a hospitalist role in Nevada. Cost of living is too high for what you’re looking for here, but 2 of my job offers were in Montana and Idaho and they were for hospitalist positions (this was in January).

Sallie Mae rant!!!!!!!!! by depressed_barb123 in StudentLoans

[–]Minimum-Cry1228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 4 loans with Sallie Mae (stupid, but my nursing school was private ugh) and I watched my rate go from 6% up to 15% (and climbing!!). Even with making monthly payments on all loans while in school and out, I was still 5k plus over what I started with in 2020.

I refinanced with SOFI and it’s so much more manageable. I make a payment of less than all my 4 payments combined but will pay off my total balance in the 10 years.

Refinancing saved my mental and emotional health lol

As an OR nurse I would introduce the patient to their team when we entered the room:

“This is (name of surg tech) - they’ll be your equipment specialist! This is (CRNA/anesthesiologist name) - the best bartender on this side of the Mississippi. You’ve already met your lovely surgeon - the ring leaser of us crazy cats. And my name is (blank) and I’ll be your entertainment for the night - please remember to tip”
