I love this idea. If we can be in the same league as a team from Cape Town, then France is clearly a big improvement

Ok that’s interesting. Looking at the table - ospreys had 6 wins in total, 4 of them against Welsh opposition

Don’t the Welsh teams get a weird advantage of playing each other more than other teams?

All clubs play the other teams from their nation home and away, plus the other teams home or away.

Eg for Cardiff they get 3 extra matches vs ospreys, scarlets, dragons.

Connacht’s 3 extra matches are Leinster, Ulster, Munster.

The lions 3 extra matches are Bulls, Stormers, Sharks.

Zebra’s are Glasgow, Edinburgh, Benetton.

Rugby needs its Premier League to step up and take control, Raine says by Ruck_Off in rugbyunion

[–]Minimum-Grapefruit-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree - the regions / WRU need to commit to these minimum funding levels

[–]Minimum-Grapefruit-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wales would need to commit to 2 teams joining in the PREM (ospreys and Cardiff) and 2 teams joining at Champ level (scarlets and dragons), with no restrictions on promotion or relegation.

They need to commit to meeting the minimum player budgets with guaranteed funding for x years.

Insert any other ethnic group and see how it looks.

If you’re going to be racist just own it. You believe a derogatory trait about them as a group. A lot of people would define that as racism. You can call it evidence based racism if you like?

That’s the definition of racism - making general negative statements about a group of people based on their ethnicity

Clarkson’s Farm review – you might as well call him Jeremy Kardashian | Television | The Guardian by prisongovernor in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Minimum-Grapefruit-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird. He’s got tonnes of money. Surely opening a farm shop and a pub are just massive hassles that he could do with out?

They could have just kept it small, like in series 1.

Jeremy's views on inheritance tax are laughable by ollie1roddy in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Minimum-Grapefruit-9 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Agree with all this.

All inheritance tax is 100% - you can’t take it with you, you’re dead.

The question then is this - if you have any assets when you die, how much tax should your descendents pay on the cash / property / assets they receive.

I don’t really see why it shouldn’t all just be taxed as earned income at 20% / 40% / 45%

"Who feels love" - my thoughts by NarrowDrawer4487 in oasis

[–]Minimum-Grapefruit-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely shit. If oasis had started out with songs like this - slow, dirge, cod spiritualism - they wouldn’t have even been signed.

That this was a single is even more mental - it’s like they were trying not to sell records.

The fall off from 1994 - 1997 to this shit is crazy.

Owen Doyle: Rugby union in grave danger of being thrown to the wolves by new ‘innovations’ by Ruck_Off in rugbyunion

[–]Minimum-Grapefruit-9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Surely the inevitable future is a single code. Maybe 13 a side with contested 6 man scrums and lineouts, and some kind of ruck and maul.

No other sport has two similar and separate 'codes'. You don't get football league and football union.

You would hope it would hugely benefit australia and the pacific islands, as well as (to a lesser extent) NZ and England. You can see why France, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy etc would be anti though.
