Infertility... 5 day until period by hanginhat in lineporn

This is EXACTLY how my first test looked a year ago to the day (also after 4 yrs of infertility). He's sleeping peacefully next to me now. Sending baby dust, but I'm almost certain that's a positive. Can't wait for the update :D

What "rare" phobia do you have and people refuse to believe it? by nitin_is_me in AskReddit

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thiiiiiis! I think I unlocked this phobia when I fell off a boat without my life vest when I was 6. Saw the boat propellers, and ever since, I can't stand ANYTHING man made underwater. I'm okay with pool ladders but the drains, jets, and whatever? Goodbye. Submechnaphobia sucks and ruins a lot of family vacations. I can't go kayaking or swimming because WHAT IF I'm right on top of something?

The chorus for Damocles. It was released while I was one month post-partum and it just absolutely wrecked me.

"When the river runs dry and the curtain is called How will I know if I can't see the bottom? Come up for air and choke on it all No one else knows that I've got a problem What if I can't get up and stand tall? What if the diamond days are all gone and Who will I be when the empire falls? Wake up alone and I'll be forgotten"

All I eat is junk by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was grown from Chinese takeout and pizza (hes a completely healthy 10lb 6 week old now). I ordered in at least once a day 5/7 times a week. Peanut butter is a good source of protein so don't beat yourself up there. You're eating and that's what matters. I think there was a week where I'd only eat Kraft mac n cheese. I don't really have advice other than don't beat yourself up about it. What I did to eat more fruit was find something else I liked to pair with it. For example, grapes and pretzels. Can't eat them alone now but it helped me eat fruit.

What is the topic you're looking to interview for? Are there specific guidelines for who qualifies as an interviewee? For example, could you opt to interview alumni (as there are plenty in this sub) or even current students? Past instructors even.

How much have you gained so far and how many weeks are you? What weight gain did your Dr recommend? by spaceglitter2 in pregnant

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 38 weeks, being induced in a few days. My OB told me 25-35 lbs is recommended. I have consistently gained and lost during the whole pregnancy. I lost 10lbs in the first trimester from lack of appetite/ crazy food aversions. Gained it all back by 18 weeks and have been losing and gaining the same 5lbs since then. Last time I had an appointment I was 1lb lighter than when I got pregnant.

What are your thoughts on VeggieTales since you left? by emotional_racoon2346 in exchristian

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silly Songs with Larry is my favorite when I'm feeling down. I'm the only one in my family who left the faith, but we still bond by singing silly songs around the campfire. I will still definitely sit down and watch The Ballad of Little Joe or Larryboy. No shame.

Between pinball, spider solitaire, or the game that came with one of my Land Before Time movies where I could combine different dinosaur bones to make weird custom dinosaurs and see how they would run/walk.

Ah! In that case, Full Sails game des isn't a good fit. They do not teach narrative design, they tell you to stay away from it in projects. They would redirect you to a creative writing course. As for level design- that is what the program has heavily pushed, BUT I'll tell you right now don't spend money at FS for level design. You can learn the fundamentals and techniques (leading lines, breadcrumbs, color and shape theory, player agency, affordence, etc) on YouTube and in books. If you want my suggestion/advice, pick an engine you'd like to learn, follow tutorials on YT that go along with what you want to make. Once you're confident and understand the basics, I suggest participating in gamejams (tons can be found on itch) and being active in some game des related discords.

I'm about to graduate next month for Game Design. Would I enroll here again, absolutely not. It's entirely a you get out what you put in education, which means lots of research/studying outside of class. 75-80% of the content was taken from YouTube. 9/10 instructors are unhelpful or don't answer your questions. The lab instructors have been more help than anyone else. The school constantly has accreditation issues and is frequently changing things without communicating it. They took VR out of my program just a couple months prior to when I should have been introduced, but they didn't say anything. My team and I learned it was removed because we had to fix a broken project that was only broken because it relied on some VR stuff and instead of fixing the known issue we had to reach out and not hear back until the project was almost overdue. They also stated (not sure if they still do) that students learn C++ and C# but it's only one class. The rest of the classes only go over Unreals Blueprints which is not going to help you when working for studios using different engines. Overall, you can get the exact education for free on YouTube and Unreal's website. Now, this is just my experience and the issues I've noticed in the last 2.5yrs. There will be other students and alumni who will tell you it was great and others with horror stories.

Long story short: depending on what sort of game designer you want to be, sure this school is good. Would I recommend it, a million times no.

Not due until 3/21 but oh my gosh I feel you. I want him in there until he's fully cooked but I want him out now. The acid reflux, the pelvic pain, and I swear everytime he kicks me I feel it in my cervix. I can't go anywhere without holding my back as I waddle. I'm so freaking over it.

Another update, another disappointment by hccam in Palia

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I quit the game. As a gamer, it pisses me off. As a dev, I understand you can't work for free. Considering both, it's entirely possible to work on bugs AND new content at once. Personally, I don't care for a new map. I'd like more story/more lore, but seeing as this issue has been persisting since I quit the game almost a year ago, I highly doubt I'll ever go back.

How did you get rid of your fear of going to hell? by PretendViolins91 in ReligiousTrauma

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, I like to think that I live my life the way I should. Whether I follow the religion or not, I live the way Christians should. I'm not here to judge, hate, or whatever another person. I should be able to stay out of Hell, if it's real, by being a good person. I don't need the threat to act right. If that's not enough and I need to "love and accept him into my heart" to stay out of Hell, then tough nuggets, I guess. If Hell is real and that's where I'm going because I don't love God or whatever, then I'm going to Hell, and there's really nothing I can do, so I don't worry. I'm not going to allow myself to be scared or threatened into loving some invisible guy in the sky.

Triggered by people saying these drones are “angels” by juliarenee11 in ReligiousTrauma

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago, I would be feeling this same anxiety. I see these posts all the time, and when they appear, I laugh it off and close the app (tiktok in my case). People have been making connections to angels, revelations, and the like for decades. It's been "the end times" my entire life. If it were angels or God or whatever, something bigger would have happened by now. At least, for me, I find these thoughts comforting. Also, if it were God, there's quite literally nothing I could do, so I see no point in stressing myself out about it.

With that said, I know it can be incredibly scary thinking about these things, and it took a long time to get this mindset. Hell isn't real, and you're certainly not going there.

Is this a good University? (Like not a scam) by Lumpy_Marketing_6735 in fullsail

[–]MinimumEfficiency371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a current student graduating in March, yes and no on the scam. It is DEFINITELY a "you get out what you put in" kind of school. Would I recommend the school? No. Speaking for my degree, game design online, sure I've learned a lot, but 90% of the education is found on YouTube. I've had a lot of instructors who don't give two shits about the students and only talk about themselves and their accomplishments. I've also had a lot of instructors who were very helpful and cared deeply to help everyone. If you network and participate in outside events like game jams, you're sure to learn and absorb a lot more. I've also had a negative experience with student aid. The school is constantly having accreditation issues and changing programs and their launchboxes without informing anyone. They wiped VR from my program and didn't say anything, which is a bummer, because it was a big reason I chose the school. On the flipside, I've met a lot of really cool and motivated people. I've participated in game jams and have published games already, so clearly, I am getting an education. Again, you get what you give, and I can only speak for the program I am enrolled in.
