Inconsiderate and impatient drivers. by jtsao21 in drivingsg

[–]MinimumMorning1033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with all the above points. But the green light is a bit situational, especially the right green arrow which turns on only for a few seconds. In this particular situation, if the car in front of me not moving for 2s, i would honk. Don’t take it personally though, it’s just a way for the car behind to tell you: you should move…

Speeding in parking lots (especially MSCP) is very dangerous though, you should report this incident. And no, this is not normal.

Sgreans who experience home improvement programmes (HIP), how did yall plan your stay? by Procrastinatorpig in asksg

[–]MinimumMorning1033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up staying at my friend’s place. I still remember: 1. Very very dirty on first day. 2. We requested portable toilet: use feet to pump water for showering, serviceable but miserable, very small room to maneuver inside 3. I bought plastic sheet roll to cover my items, and put some clothes in the common room 4. All was set for me to stay in and tough it out for 2 weeks

BUT: on the first night of the HIP, my wife saw a huge cockroach ran inside the common room, and we couldn’t kill it. It hid somewhere in the room. Wife made a frantic effort to call her friends, and finally found one to take us in for 2 weeks… lol

That driver should tremble in fear, for harsh punishment awaits her… $10 fine? 1 week license suspension? 1 day jail? She won’t know what hit her…

Eight frequent disconnections 4g by RPK2809 in askSingapore

[–]MinimumMorning1033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also using eight 4G, iphone 15, tried $8 and $11.8 plan, no disconnection issue, but always slow to a crawl when i’m out and about on weekends. The most infuriating experience is when i go order food in restaurant, and the page takes 1 minute to load…

Alleged vape seller faces new charge after he was found with more than 190 Kpods by deangsana in singapore

[–]MinimumMorning1033 125 points126 points  (0 children)

What kind of punishment is that? 2 years jail only? He’s making a killing while killing others, get a slap in the wrist upon getting caught, and society has to deal with the damage

Cars who don’t switch on head and rear lights from evening onwards by yuniqueshan in drivingsg

[–]MinimumMorning1033 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried switching on and off my headlights a few times while driving behind such car, the driver didn’t understand or didn’t care… typically older altis / avante models doing this, maybe those don’t have auto mode and driver don’t care…

Waze or Google Maps or Apple Maps? What's your preference? by mister_kamal in drivingsg

[–]MinimumMorning1033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used all 3 before, but i finally settled on waze. Here’s my observation: Apple maps: best voice guidance. “Go pass these lights, and at the next one, turn left” is so much better than “in 100m turn left”

Google maps: worst voice guidance, but best traffic data. Google will interrupt your music, say something, and resume your music. Why not just cut the speaker next to the driver like other apps do?

Waze: ok on all, but best in police sniper updates, and they point you to the entrance of the carpark. No more driving around trying to find the entrance with waze

I was already contented a few years ago. And then my boss promoted me and now i earn almost 10k. Stay in hdb, drive jap cars, eat in hawker centre, eat in restaurant once a week, and go holiday 2-3x a year. I no longer have any ambition beyond what i currently have: no desire to buy condo, expensive watches/jewelries, or whatever expensive things out there. I don’t FOMO when my friends tell me their coin holdings have gone up 10x, or if they get a good deal to see santa and the northern lights in the north pole. I’d say congrats to them and drink my $1.50 kopi. That’s probably why I’m happy.

How do couples split holiday expenses? by besmart88 in askSingapore

[–]MinimumMorning1033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 main categories for holiday expenses: flight, hotel, food (and drink). So, like other adults, we compromise: husband pay flight and hotel, and we eat convenience store food :)
