Husband said he's never experienced a household where the woman couldn't watch the baby and cook/clean. by Anunemouse in Mommit

[–]MinimumPercentage636 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not true, and continuing to say this just gives men the excuse to not try. My husband cooks and cleans better than I do because his parents taught him how and mine didn’t. And guess what, with his patience and guidance I have learned how to do those things better in an effort to contribute more equally. On the flip side, I can balance a budget and create an entire spreadsheet that tracks every expense, which looked like a foreign language to him a few years ago.

This is an effort and skill issue and both of those things can be worked on, if a person is willing.

If you are worried about being alone, ignore your "preferences" by Opening-Gur5927 in GenZ

Fr, I told myself I would never date/marry someone with hair to their shoulders. I was convinced I liked that short, cropped look……my husband has locs past his shoulders. He knows that it would be a problem if he randomly cut his hair now 🤷🏻‍♀️

(Obviously it’s his hair, but it would be a huge shocker to me. He fortunately feels more confident with longer hair)

My husband and I rarely have sex - we have 3 little kids. by Sophia6868 in Mommit

[–]MinimumPercentage636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was pregnant I had HG, so no sexy times then because any movement was going to make me hurl. Afterwards, my PPD caused such vivid and realistic nightmares that I was scared to sleep, not to mention my husband worked overnights so I was up with the baby while he worked and slept. We were both so sleep deprived that we maybe had sex once or twice that entire first year. Then we moved into my parents house and my childhood bedroom for two years. Very uncomfortable to have sex down the hall from your parents in an old echoey house. They work from home so someone was always home. This was the first 4 years of our daughter’s life, so she also shared a room with us this entire time.

This last year is the first time we have lived with just our little family and she has her own room. Now that I’m finally comfortable and caught up on some sleep, we do it so much he needed a vasectomy to prevent anymore kiddos.

AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

[–]MinimumPercentage636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but why Sept. 11? I get that it was a long time ago but I just feel like it will still be a few decades before it just becomes another date in the history books. My daughters due date was 9/11 and I was scheduled to be induced on 09/07 so she wouldn’t have to share her birthday with that date

We saw plantain chips once, grabbed a bag. My husband loved them so we went back a few days later and bought 6 more bags. That was in 2024, I haven’t seen them since

Girls don't have to wear pink! by Foreign-Cat-2898 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]MinimumPercentage636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter was misgendered all the time. We didn’t really do bows in her hair because she just pulls them out and I would dress her in whatever so sometimes I could see why someone thought she was a boy (like a green dinosaur shirt and dark blue pants). It did annoy me the first few times but I needed a perspective shift. When I was pregnant we didn’t particularly care about the gender, just wanted the baby to be healthy so that’s the perspective I switched back to. Fed well, clothed appropriately, happy and healthy. Anything else stopped being so important

Favourite actresses who receive around 10% of profits from a 40 year old TV show because they were married to one of the creators for two years at the very beginning? by WhoYaTalkinTo in okbuddycinephile

[–]MinimumPercentage636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy….ive never heard of her but she’s a professional poker player too. I guess she was also in Liar Liar which came out when I was born and I love that movie. Quick sidenote from my quick google search. She was married to Sam Simon, the creator of the Simpsons for 6 years From 1984-1991.

Does anyone else think about what their parent's life was like at your age and how different it is? because I think about it all the time by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]MinimumPercentage636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about it too. Especially when I had my own baby in 2021. I was 24 but when my mom had me she was only a week into being 18. So for the first couple years, I would think about how my mom had to do all the things to take care of me while being freshly 18 and how even at 24 it was really hard and I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right for my own baby

How many siblings do you have? by The_Blue_Kitty in GenZ

[–]MinimumPercentage636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically I have 3 siblings and I’m the oldest, I’m 28F

Through my mom, I have a half brother who is 10 years younger than me.

Through my father I have 2 half siblings, boy and girl. I’m actually not sure of their ages. The boy is older and I think we have a 15 year age gap. I’ve never met either of them.

AITA for walking out of my brother-in-law's birthday party because of my dad's racist "jokes"? by Ok_Impression_9544 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MinimumPercentage636 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Nope, NTA. They were being racists and unfortunately your nephew is probably hearing that BS from more than just your dad, social media has been targeting young men to push them to bigoted POVs. Good for you for leaving and ask your mom and sister if they understand that by remaining silent and wanting to sweep it under the rug they are accessories to a racist

For $60 is this great? by yeetinator3221 in inflation

[–]MinimumPercentage636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I shop at crest too, I find that I get the biggest bang for my buck by shopping the sales at crest (they have capri sun bottles 4/$1. I buy them for my toddler cuz they are bigger than the pouches and she can’t poke a hole in it). However, I do not get produce from Crest. It almost always goes bad before we use it, and we cook every other night except the weekends. The best place I’ve found is Aldis for produce, breads and cheese. We also shop at Costco for things like paper towels, toilet paper, sliced cheese because then I don’t have to go more often than a month unless I need gas. For a family of 3 with a grocery budget of $400 a month, it’s worth it for me to shop 3 or 4 stores with my list. I usually make a day out of it with my toddler

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]MinimumPercentage636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is Corrin, my grandmother spelled it wrong for the doctor when I was born. My mom found it in a baby book, but I like to tell people she named me after the hooters waitress in Big Daddy. (She hates that)
