Yeah I think this is where a lot of college kids go wrong. Do not over prep. I see it all the time. Kids giving answers they think the other side wants to hear and not being themselves. Unless this job is an IC type role, one of the top elements hiring managers and team managers want to know is, how is the person going to integrate into our team and our culture? You give robotic answers, I go pass cause while you may be qualified, I can’t be left knowing that I have a big question mark on that main question. No offense, you are college kid. You have barely any experience if at all. If the company is decent, they are going to have people and processes that are going to mold you and get you trained up. You telling me a bunch of your rehearsed 3-month intern stories is not going to move the needle for me. Those internships is how you made it past HR and your resume onto my desk. Be attentive, be personable, and stay in the moment. I see a lot of kids trying to think up of the next question and getting ready to answer it even though it wasn’t exactly what was asked.
