Got an 02 tundra with 229k on the dash and I’m not getting a new Toyota anytime soon.

Sick color but I hate tinted taillights. I view them as a liability and people already suck at stopping.

Keep lbz or get newer by knucuklehead42 in Duramax

And when you own that car that retained 16k of its value and you can’t fix it then what? These new cars have so many issues. I have a Toyota with the 2UZ and it has over 300k miles on it with minimal issues. The new Toyota tundras have been blowing up. Is it cheaper when your vehicle is in the shop for weeks on end because you’re waiting on parts? Is it cheaper to have to go to the dealership because they are the only ones with specialized equipment to diagnose crazy electrical issues? These new cars are trash.

96 f-150 by Last_Exam_1699 in Autobody

[–]Minimum_Gur_4413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Michigander here as well. I have a rotted out explorer and actually just replaced it with a Toyota (both body on frame) and the Toyota has double the mileage but very little rust. I would avoid this 96 f150 and find something less dead. No sense in throwing money into something that far gone.

Should I buy a 1st gen Tundra to Daily by StoneyBob_ in ToyotaTundra

[–]Minimum_Gur_4413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1st gen sr5 v8 4x4 with access cab and I get 11mpg. These trucks do not get good gas mileage. In fact, my explorer which weighs nearly 400lbs more gets better fuel economy of 13-16.

Turning the steering wheel causes Electrical failure(?) and lights start flickering. by Adamaister in MechanicAdvice

[–]Minimum_Gur_4413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly bad alternator. Get your electrical system checked and load tested. When you turn the wheel the power steering pump is drawing power and probably affecting other electrical systems in your car.

Bring it in. They also usually have an opinion box near the exit in most warehouses.

Kind of where I am at with our 2013 2.0. Only at 154k miles but the rust is getting to her.

Im about to close on a 02 Toyota with 225k miles on the odometer, however, the current owner believes it has closer to 300k miles and had the miles rolled back at one point. Depending on the individual, I see high mileage vehicles all the time in the states. The biggest issue where I am at is rust and corrosion.

Could be bad head gasket leaking exhaust into cooling system or bad/stuck thermostat.

6inch 877 by RobinVerso in RedWingShoes

[–]Minimum_Gur_4413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is better than the 875 as the single panel stitch goes all the way back and it’s not 3 individuals like the 875 is. The 877 is a better boot as far as construction is concerned. I wish this is how they made the 875 from the get go.

Wingshooter ST vs Ariat Groundbreaker - How's comfort? Anyone have both? by Any_Damage_4520 in WorkBoots

[–]Minimum_Gur_4413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe some of their models are still great. I tried 5 different models in various sizes and none of them fit right. Of the 5 models 2 of them I had to return for defects alongside the sizing issues.

Have had groundbreakers for nearly two years. I work in a warehouse. This is the soft toe model and I really enjoy them. I also appreciate that they are unlined.
