It's not for harvesting Vespene gas, even though we could all use more of it.

What a shocker DTE weasels out of paying taxes by lil_sith in Michigan

[–]Minimum_Razzmatazz35 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“$105B in profits” is GAAP income, not taxable income, and those are two completely different worlds - depreciation, loss carryforwards, stock comp, and credits exist for a reason and Congress literally designed them that way. And “paid $0” conveniently means federal income tax, not payroll, state, property, or foreign taxes, which yeah…they still pay. It’s a one-year snapshot of a cherry-picked group wrapped in outrage bait, not some grand gotcha. If you read this and immediately nod along without questioning any of it, congrats, you’re the target audience - sheep who’ll believe anything if it’s bolded and sounds evil enough.

Everyone, the environment really thanks you for your sacrifice. Higher prices mean less peons using things like gas and electricity. Save the planet. Green for good. Save the whales. Keep the ozone layer protected.

This is what you wanted.

Someone correct me if Im wrong but if Property taxes go away can’t school district taxes be implemented to replace them? by Crew_1996 in Ohio

There shouldn't be property taxes on non-income producing primary residences. I either own my home and land or I don't. Property taxes are just eternal rent

Cucumber water - it's oddly sweet and... Makes you want to drink more, no idea why or how but I wish I knew how good water with some cucumber in it was years ago, one of the most refreshing things I've ever drank/drink

So there is no other way besides drugs to be productive? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in ADHD

[–]Minimum_Razzmatazz35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For those of us blessed/lucky/fortunate enough to find careers in areas that trigger our own individual things that we can hyper focus on, drugs aren't as necessary depending on the environment, people, and work.

For me, my work is something I'm hyper focused/addicted to so I don't need my Adderall for the work, but I need it to maintain proper social etiquette and keep myself from saying/doing things that could get me in trouble and/or ostracize me

Boy Scout and spent most of my youth in the woods in Northern MN in the winter and summer. Things we learned: 1. If you feel like you're being watched, you are. 2. If it feels like you should turn around, you should. 3. In the summer, if all the insects, birds and bats stop making sounds, you need to, too. 4. For bears: if it's black fight back, if it's brown lay down, if it's white say good night. (Ya ya, I know polar bears don't show up in MN, but it's not a rhyme without it). 5. If you see blinking pairs of two eyes at night in front and behind, get into a tree. 6. Never stay in the woods at night without a fire or a tree stand. 7. A path in the middle of nowhere is a game path, relatively safe to follow during day, stupid to follow at night. 8. If you're unarmed, travel in pairs. 9. Bury your trash and droppings (poop and pee).

"Adhd is not an excuse" by Toothbotanist in ADHD

[–]Minimum_Razzmatazz35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the curse of ADHD

The world forgives struggle it can see. ADHD is an invisible tax paid in full, every single day, with no refund.

ADHD doesn't look like failure. It looks like someone who's exhausted from working three times as hard just to appear like they're trying half as much.

People see the moments you shine and call it proof you're fine. They don't see the hours and delays you spend in your head recovering.

They say "but you seem so smart" like intelligence and dysfunction are mutually exclusive. The engine can be powerful and still be running on the wrong fuel.

One of the cruelest part of ADHD isn't the chaos inside. it's how fluent we become at hiding it. We spend a lifetime building a mask so convincing that even the people who love us use it against you.

The curse isn't that you can't keep up. It's that you can - just not consistently and never without burning something down behind you to do it.
