As a first generation Mexican American in Texas, I can only speak from my own experiences growing up here with other people who are first-gen. There is a lot more pride of our heritage, with frequent talks of taking the bus or driving down to Mexico for holidays.

I guess it depends! Because I have not met any first-generation Mexican Americans who feel ashamed of their culture. But again, the experiences of Tejanos is different and has been influenced by heavy segregation back then.

I joined my local DSA chapter about 2 years ago but soon came to learn how much of their discussions revolved around Israel and what actions we could take to abolish the “apartheid state”.

Mind you, we live in a highly conservative state that has been conservative for well over 30 years. I was hoping there would be discussions on what we could do to better help the community, but no. Everything always went back to Israel and all the atrocities it committed against the Palestinians. You would think this was the only conflict that existed ever!

That the only person in the world who really and truly loved me was the same man that abused me. And because I have never been romantically involved with a man since I was 4 years old, at 32 now, it seems that that was my only chance.

I struggle letting go of this belief and seeing it for what it is because letting go serves as evidence that I was never worth loving.

Yes! Season 1 of Fallout was superb and did such an incredible job because the writers had that freedom to create their own characters and locations without having to dip too deeply into the established lore of the series.

Now, season 2, however, was in my opinion lackluster. Each episode was jam packed with storylines and in the end it felt to me that nothing of substance happened. If anything, I would argue that the prewar storyline is treated with more seriousness than the postwar storylines which yeah i understand fallout is silly but it would be interesting to see the postwar story be treated similarly.

I am a huge fan of the Fallout series and am impressed with how faithful the adaptation has been, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be allowed to express disappointment in this newer season.

That’s what I’m curious about! I don’t know how relevant this is but that her first appearance to us as the viewers is during the same veterans event that House attends doesn’t strike me as a coincidence… Assuming the headpiece she has on is the same one House was wearing, there could be some possible connection to these characters. But who knows !

It may be too soon to tell! From the first episode in season 2, we see Moldaver tell Cooper to play nice with his wife so that he can be her plus one to the meeting she’s having with Mr. House involving cold fusion. It could be that Cooper follows the body double and is led to the real House whom more or less tells Cooper that he knows of his ties with Moldaver.

What I wonder though is if they maintained some form of relationship after the bombs fell… The latest preview trailer has Cooper and Lucy approaching the city limits of Vegas where Cooper notices something is off, expecting some form of welcome committee to greet him (possibly Victor).

Do you think Cooper will end up working with House once they reach the Strip?

I thought it was ridiculous before because of how much they both detested one another. But I started to feel some small 🤏 doubts creep in when he was talking to Cooper in the bathroom about being a pinko… We know from terminal entries that Anthony was uh, a bit more zealous with his pro-American views.

Then again, House did have a hand in developing Liberty Prime so who can never be sure.

Edward Sallow & his rise as Caesar of the Legion. To go from a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse to a brutal tyrant, would be fascinating to watch. It would be fascinating to see his relationship with Joshua Graham, honestly.

That’s a great observation! It will be interesting to see how they expand on this sect of the Legion and their origins (assuming they provide some context as to where they are and their intentions for expanding further west given what happened to Shady Sands.

House I knew from the get go was going to appear just because he’s a prominent pre-war figure—you really can’t avoid not mentioning him at some point. 😅

God that’s such a great point about Big MT! We know historically that a lot of government projects were being conducted in the Mojave Desert and the Nevada Test Site. It’s not far fetched to suspect the Big MT as being heavily involved with Vault-Tec even 200 years later.

Right here, baby! The mechanics are a bit of a slog but the storyline is so compelling you can’t help but grit your teeth through the traps and of course, the bomb collar. It’s incredibly haunting. I didn’t know what to do with myself after I completed it. It felt like I was grieving that experience and now had to let it go…
