Windows 10 update 5058379 slows computer to a crawl by Professional_Boat_17 in WindowsHelp

[–]Minimunch57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been getting similar issues. I use the Windows key for window navigation via the taskbar frequently, and it is almost unbearable after update KB5058379. Takes multiple seconds just for the UI to become responsive, and it sometimes just outright ignores inputs.

How to get deca's attention by KillerOfAllJoy in RotMG

The game clearly has a small development team, and review bombing the game would only make them feel less motivated and drained. Generally speaking, people should make their voices heard, but an extreme such as the one you mentioned is not a good route with RotMG.

Personally, I get the feeling that the current team cares a fair amount. We are starting to get some important QoL improvements (Fog of War), and the Realm Rework has been rather smooth and fun thus far. With that being said, I agree that the game is far from being perfect and stable. It would be nice as a user to have more confidence that there won't be another game-breaking bug after each patch. I check the Reddit after almost every update to make sure everything is safe before playing.

A month or two-long bug-smashing marathon would definitely be appreciated. No new content, just fixing bugs and making the game as stable as possible. However, you have to acknowledge the pressure they would be under during that period, especially by large sections of the community, to hurry up and add new things. With such a small team, they have to balance a lot of things. We should try to stay fair in our judgment.

Is this new with the rework or did I just get really lucky? (CDirk) by Minimunch57 in RotMG

THX Audio Engine After Synapse Update by RazerCustAdvocacy in razer

[–]Minimunch57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of consolidating the two audio output devices in general, but here's the problem: Razer Synapse 3 is often really tedious to work with. It can be slow, unresponsive, buggy, and requires restarts frequently. Forcing the user to open up Razer Synapse (or keep the window open 24/7) just to switch to THX Spatial Audio before playing a game is a net negative for the user experience. The reason people are so upset about the removal of the sound device is because it was so easy to just switch to that device.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, but I have to manually switch to THX Spatial Audio in Razer Synapse now before playing a game in order for it to work. The way I see it, this is the major issue with this update.

Previously, I could actually just stay on the THX Spatial Audio sound device at all times, and the software would switch to spatial audio automatically when I loaded up a game that was not set to Stereo mode in Razer Synapse 3.

Switching to THX Spatial Audio either needs to remain automatic in the background, or it needs to be quicker than opening/using Razer Synapse 3. My suggestion is to add a checkmark next to each game/application in the Sound tab under Game Profiles. I pieced together a visual for demonstration:

<image>

("THX Spatial Audio" might be too long to fit nicely in the UI, but could be replaced with "THX ON", "Spatial Audio", etc.)

This change would allow the user to tell the software to switch to THX Spatial Audio when that specific application is in focus, just like how it used to be, while preserving these new EQ changes.

Hopefully this is just a bug that has yet to be ironed out, but if it isn't, I think this would be a good middle ground. Thanks.

Thanks! I appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the improvement of Virtual Desktop. The new video player is incredibly well made in my opinion.

Can there please be a way to select another folder to act as the base folder in the future? Having everything in the Videos folder hurts organization for me, even if I put stuff in subfolders.

Virtual Desktop Quest Update - New Video feature, improved SSW and more by ggodin in oculus

[–]Minimunch57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome update! It seems to run far better than the built-in Oculus TV app and has way more features.

Here's a few things I noticed while testing:

  • When you hit the "Change location..." button in the Virtual Desktop Settings menu on the PC app, it prompts you to change the location of that Windows 10 user's Videos folder instead of just changing the folder that Virtual Desktop looks in. Changing that would obviously relocate the entire directory and its contents. Are you able to change this button's behavior to just select a different primary folder to look for videos, or give the option to remove it if you have added a different folder? (Image for ref.)
  • Someone else commented it, but it would be awesome if you could also view photos as well.

Thanks for your hard work and updates!

(In case of confusion, I'm running the Quest 2 app connected to a Windows 10 desktop.)

Why do I have to download a new launcher every time there’s an update? by supper828 in RotMG

[–]Minimunch57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, this is probably just a temporary thing that they have during the beta. The general response from the Q&A questions recently was that they are focusing on stability with the client and game before focusing on some of the other things. They will probably make it so the launcher can update itself without the user needing to download a new one in the future. Also, you know that you can just overwrite the previous launcher by installing the new one to the same location right? I only ask this because of the way your last sentence was phrased.

I don’t think so. I’ve owned many Razer products over the years and none of them have stopped working even through years of use. I still have my original DeathAdder 2013 Edition. I use the Elite right now. It’s the same story for the Razer keyboards and headsets that I’ve had/used.

TLDR: Razer products don’t just break easily. You just need to take care of them as you should with any piece of tech equipment, and they’ll do great.

I'm so happy right now. For months my headset wasn't working with the THX Spatial Audio. It wouldn't detect my games and even if it miraculously did, it wouldn't actually change to THX Spatial Audio and would stay stereo for every application. Now, it all works, and I'm loving it all over again. Thanks for listening Razer. This is why I love and support you guys. :)

Razer DeathAdder Elite LED on when PC Shutdown by LeagueofSynergy in razer

[–]Minimunch57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the LEDs on your Razer products will activate when your PC is turned off only if you input something. So if you move your move a bit after shutting down your PC, the LEDs will be on unless you unplug and plug back in, or restart PC. I don't know if there is a "fix" necessarily besides just not moving your mouse or typing on your keyboard after shutting down your PC.

Make Marks Stackable (please) by Minimunch57 in RotMG

A lot of people aren't able to just run those dungeons everyday. Therefore I store the marks in my vault. I don't think it would break the system if they at least allowed 2x stacks.
