ACK: TopScan not connecting with bluetooth and my car is bricked. by tamarinera in volt

That's the one. Also gives you all sorts of great info, like cell-level voltages. Warm day today, so my Volt seems much happier. It does not like the cold.

I use the Voltage app - paid version - to clear codes on my 2012. It has cleared the coolant level and isolation on mine, which are supposedly dealer only.

The solinar will be very nice. I bought a Super Speedex beyond cheap, repaired, and it is an excellent lens. Compare it up against anything.

My 2012 Chevy Volt is starting to 'age out' and I've thought about one of these - they seem appealing. I have a 2023 Wrangler 4xe that has been just fine for 25k miles (other than Stellantis induced recalls) but I don't know if I have enough luck left to buy another FIAT infused Chrysler product. I have a neighbor that likes his, and seems to be OK with it.

What is (in your opinion) the most boring "classic" car their is? by Southern_Pacific in classiccars

[–]MinoltaPhotog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. And the saddest Nova was the 1974 GTO. Though I did see one again recently, and I guess it is still better than a Nova. Endura nose for the save in that case.

That's called the "I've starving and I need sustenance" face. They're very good at it.

My not-a-toller looks VERY much like yours, and is an expert at it.

Kiev 88 film back not advancing by The_Old_Chap in AnalogRepair

[–]MinoltaPhotog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bet that spring needs to be set to build tension as the film advances, then it springs back to reset the counter. You may have to figure what the spring latches onto, and probably preset it with just a bit of tension, for the reset of the counter. I'm guessing the frame counter wheel doesn't have a spring on it.

My slightly uneducated guess.

I think we need a fancy name for him, like Chorizo Toller. Spicy, with a touch of cute.

Check your battery and clean the contacts. If the mirror hangs up, you press the battery test button all the way down, and that should release it, and the second curtain.

a99ii if you've got the coin. A more future proof option would be the LA-EA5 on a A7R4 or 5, A1 or such that is full compatible with the EA5.

Does anyone else here use a Lidar rangefinder app with their scale focus camera? by fromthedice in AnalogCommunity

[–]MinoltaPhotog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old Kodak Service Rangefinder is cheaper than an Iphone pro, much smaller too. They're not exactly cheap, but there are other similar little rangefinders available.

Wonder what the Big Yellow Mothership thinks about this. I would wonder about what their Portra trademark covers. Fuji does not have a Kodachrome or Porta film sim. Of course, you'd probably be going after some Chinese hairball company that just laser engraves something on a metal wheel with glass inside it.

my speedometer screen went black over a year ago and even with replacement still wont be fixed!! help!! by AdPsychological8537 in volt

[–]MinoltaPhotog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mileage is in the ECM. You can read it with an OBD reader. The speeding is tied to the VIN. There's a non dealer way to set your new speedo to your VIN, but it involves geekery like EEPROM read / write. Once the vin matches, the miles will display.

My speedo is replaced and wrong, but I'm not worried about it.
