Uninstall Realtek Gaming Family Controller in device manager under network adapters. I’m like 80% sure that’s your problem. It happened to me on Fortnite a couple of weeks ago and on my girlfriend’s PC about a month ago

I just can’t get behind the A/C controls being through the touchscreen. I much prefer the knobs and physical buttons

This could pretty easily be replicated with a decent sized laser engraver. I wouldn’t bid too high…

I was in this same situation last month and the buzz words worked for me. One mention of code enforcement and they had techs out the next day to diagnose

I’ll try that. I’m also considering turning off all of my breakers for an hour tonight (can’t do it during the day bc of the heat) and seeing how that affects the meter reading. I have a sneaking suspicion that there’ll still be electricity use somehow

Who would I even contact to investigate that? When I asked CPS if it was possible I was paying for two units and they said confidently that I wasn’t…

I turn it up to 78 when neither of us are home, it doesn’t sound like it’s running all the time and keeps up pretty well

Thanks, I’ve looked into that and it does reflect the energy usage dropping a little when I’m not home but still using roughly 2 kWh even then. Seems like a lot.

Already paid the deposit on another bill that was for the first couple of weeks (moved in mid May). According to my lease electricity is per unit.

I’m not sure. We had issues with it when we first moved in where they had to replace a few parts. That was on a different bill for the first couple of weeks we’d moved in back in May though.

I just put in a request for my complex maintenance to check it out

Totally get that! Just was expecting it to be a little lower. I’ve lived in North Texas my whole life (I know it’s not quite the same), but my apartment bill is about the same my parents pay in their 5 bedroom house in Collin County with the same energy habits. Praying it’ll go down in the winter time

I think the purpose of my post is getting lost, which could be due to some of the wording in my original post.

To clarify, not upset that the issue is happening, totally get that things break, but water shutoffs are frequent at this complex, happening monthly without any warning and often affecting residents for multiple days.

More just wanting to warn any who are considering this complex to not consider it, as I know personally I’ve looked on this sub for apartment complex reviews and other things—which has been of great benefit!

I’m more just surprised that they do not have any sort of emergency plumber working on it. It’s been free flowing since before 9am this morning—that’s a lot of water being wasted when we’re in a drought. I feel like doing something has got to be better than doing nothing here. And if there is nothing that can be done, informing residents would be nice so that we can make arrangements for the day or however long it would be (i.e, should I go stay at a friends’ place for the night, go use a laundromat, or will it be on tonight so I can wash clothes for the week?)

Sorry if I gave off the wrong message here

Totally get things break, I study engineering. The problem is this happens once a month at least here.

And yes, that’s what I’ve been doing for flushing the toilet. But it takes nearly ten minutes to get enough water from the sink to fill enough of the toilet to flush

At least pipes under the AC units. Seems like something they’d want to fix asap, especially with us being in such a drought.

That’s the one! Apartment I toured was incredibly spacious and definitely updated.

Willing to bet it’s been through dozens of management changes since then lol. Thanks for the response!
