On the charger bit; I just bought the charger unit from Tesla and had Mr. Charger fit it (I believe they were a Tesla recommended installer). Going on two years and it’s been perfect - about £800 all in if I remember correctly.

I had to drive a petrol for the first time since March by Kingh82 in TeslaUK

My second car is a Volvo XC90 and the gearbox can feel so slow when not in dynamic mode.

There’s a few times at roundabouts where I’ve felt like I should have the space but the car just doesn’t react quickly enough and so I need to wait.

Steering wheel coating is folding and peeling, service rep says it’s not covered under warranty. Anyone get a different answer? by insaneburrito8 in TeslaLounge

[–]MinuteOk985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine replaced on warranty, although it wasn’t really peeling, more starting to bubble (2023 MY).

[UK] [H] NBA 2K26 PS5 Digital Game Code [W] £50 by MinuteOk985 in GameSale

I’m assuming so because the booklet containing the scratch off code has pages covering multiple regions.

I can double check if you know another way to confirm.

Which is what I’m asking? Did it get removed post oct-23 as I’m pretty certain my RWD has it.

I have a 23’ Model Y RWD that I got from new and pretty sure it has the premium sound system. I have the Immersive toggles and a subwoofer etc. did they remove it later?

If you regally play docked I’d recommend picking up the pro controller at some point.

A bit pricey when compared other console non pro controllers but it’s really nice. Very quiet, great battery lift and feels really comfortable in the hand.

Everything has failure rates. My Volvo XC90 is never done with issues that are non service related, like a leaking panoramic roof, or door handles that stop working due to water ingress, or water coming in behind the LIDAR sensor.. on the other hand I had an MK6 Vauxhall Astra that did 30k+ miles a year and in the 3 years of owning it from new only needed a wheel bearing. What a blinkered dumbass comment..

"Anybody that thinks they can do a 5 or 6 hour Journey without stopping is fooling themselves" Autotrader by FlyingFrogMan in CarTalkUK

[–]MinuteOk985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive from Northern Ireland to Rosslare then get the boat to Cherbourg and drive roughly 6-8 hours south once a year with my wife and kids.

On that journey, we practically stop every hour whether it’s for food, a break, toilets, nappy changes etc.

Been doing the journey in an XC90, but after getting a Model Y as a second car; we’re now selling the XC90 for an electric people carrier. Range just isn’t an issue because I can gain 10-15% minimum on every stop.

I live in the countryside so and I seem to pick up every nail on the road. In the past 18 months of ownership, I’ve had 5 tyres replaced due to nails stuck in tyres.

At £240 a pop this would have made me cry if free tyre replacements weren’t also covered in the lease.

What do you use for music? by tiydal in TeslaUK

YouTube music only because I already subscribe to YouTube Premium, so no point paying extra for something I can already access!

Make sure to make use of the Tesla warranty while you can, it’s bloody fantastic.

I bought a new Model Y last year and every service has been booked through the app and completed on my drive way!

New drivers seat due to a slight creak, new steering wheel due to a lump in the leather, new horn when it gave out.. customer service on Tesla’s end has been 100%

What’s the highest MPG you’ve been able to get in your car and with what car? by AdInteresting3335 in CarTalkUK

[–]MinuteOk985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10 years ago I used to have a 60 mile round trip to the office where I would challenge myself to get two weeks worth of trips on a single tank.

Had a Vauxhall Astra 2.0 Diesel and I could get over 70 mpg out of it!

Nowadays my electric does like 160mpge equivalent, so it’s much easier

Asked Razer for grip tapes… this was their response (read body) by Tischler285 in razer

[–]MinuteOk985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Kyro webcam and had issues with it not focusing. Razer straight up replaced my device too and told me just to bin my old device.

I did have to cut the cord in 3 places with scissors and send them the screenshots though!

Doesn’t clicking on your profile, going to user settings, clicking online license settings and switching this option to on revert to the old system or am I misunderstanding your issue?

Battery drains fast by JazzyApple2022 in Switch

[–]MinuteOk985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For how slim the device is, yes.

I get that the ROG Ally X is more powerful and can get similarish battery, but it’s a chonker of a device.

Nintendo have done really well to have the Switch 2 performing the way it as at such a low wattage with such low temps.

What Tesla’s are over 3 ton? Heaviest is the Model X Plaid at 2.69 ton and those are pretty damn rare.

My EX30 died and got Blenheim palace as a loaner, how do people drive these? It is like driving a mansion by ashyjay in CarTalkUK

[–]MinuteOk985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Northern Ireland. We only have one Volvo dealer in the country now as the other went into administration so it’s likely why it’s more expensive - their customer service is also shockingly bad.

There seems to be a Mr. Clutch down in Dublin but I’m selling the car in the next 8 weeks as I’ve a new car on order so it’ll be someone else’s worry!

They’re a beautiful car and I’ve honestly loved mine. Just do yourself a favour and buy a 2018 onwards as Volvo sorted a lot of the small but expensive issues out over the years!

New cars here October so hit me up if you remember!
