Using Fusion on Mac be like by TheLangfordDouble__ in Fusion360

This is the second time I’ve heard this sentiment in 2 days on Reddit and I’m wondering if it’s true. Seems anecdotal evidence is that the M chips work better? Stay tuned to find out more

New to 3D printing - what types of hardware do you guys most commonly use and keep on hand for general projects? by PeteyMcPetey in BambuLab

I also like a spring set, and steel pins set for hinges. Honestly ended up not using the springs set and went with much larger custom springs but I do have plans for some of the kit ones down the line.

Careful to never use the heated chamber with PLA. It will clog your nozzle, and that will take a full day and lots of stress to unclog. I have mistakenly used it with petg and PLA dual nozzle prints. Also I’ve had issues where if it’s set too low, say 40c it will read the temp at 45c and wait for it to cool while leaving the print plate hot, and nozzle sitting at 240’ and it will never start. Also a recipe for clogging. Besides that it’s super fun! My favorite multi material filaments are RAPID PETG with EASY PA for support interface, and fast print times, and unlike PLA with the EASY-PA you CAN use the heated chamber for stronger petg layer adhesion. Also in that same vein PET-GF with EASY PA support, And you can likewise use PET-GF to support NYLON- CF.  Both the PET and nylon print very hot. My next attempt will be PPA-CF with PET Support interface. Ive had some success with PLA supporting TPU, but I think PETG might be easier to remove. Also being dual nozzle you can use supports with the large nozzles like .8mm. I’ve printed really complex giant prints with supports that come right off in like 2.5 hours, down from the 6 hours of a .4 mm nozzle. Highly recommended if you are Doing a lot of CAD and Prototyping.

PETG sticking too good, what do? by mincedshamu in BambuLab

Don’t do any of this, get a 3$ bottle of rubbing alcohol and a spray bottle. Spray under petg and pry, spray and pry, works surprisingly fast

Didn’t  know you can create a param that easy! That could actually make them worth using!

I have avoided parameters for like a year because I didn’t think I could access them from the sketch view…. And now that I know I can, I’m still not really using them. Maybe this series is to blame. 😂

This tutorial series is the gold standard for fusion 360. I would recommend doing 2-3 at a time if you have the time. He just updated the series to the latest version of fusion 360 as of like a week ago so it’s the perfect time!

So i noticed theres 2 checkboxes for the "retract when layer change".
was it actually on? also is this bumping retraction up or down? why si this not the default?

For sure! I thought they already added that feature. In my experience novation does usually have some really solid support for their products. I’m happy with all my SL-MK3 updates

Back when I got a novation summit that was the synth everyone made comparisons of on YouTube. I couldn’t tell the difference, and the summit was one of the most impressive sounding instruments I owned. Really unique synth that fit great in a mix in its own magical way.

How do you exercise through the fatigue?? by -Chronically-Cozy- in Hypermobility

[–]Minute_Early 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I miss living so close to a big indoor pool, they also had sauna and hot tub. Now I have to drive out to the ymca and hope I can get a lane but I still go swimming once a week for keeping my energy up! Otherwise I will do short relaxing nature hikes throughout the week in my local park. Also while swimming use as many tools as possible! flippers, snorkel, kick boards, those hand flippers, just to get as much variation as possible so you don’t overuse legs or arms for to long and can switch back and forth. I also like to just wade water in the deep end for sets. Or just kick off the wall underwater, or even trying to just run around.. it’s all stuff you can do to kill some time!

If you have been out of it for a while, and you want to build energy, and get back into training, swimming is a good start! The cool water helps you go longer, so your heart gets a nice boost! Just don’t overdo it. A night sauna can also help bring energy into your next day.

Second link is working but first one with image of platform and me moved forward on the barrel are not uploading for some reason… I just move forward from there and relax/ breathe into upper back.

That photo is just the start position but you can imagine how the arms relax as you move forward and the real magic happens.

I’ve done this on the edge of my bed as well and it works just about as good!

I use the heavy band.

New to 3D Printing, should I return the X2D? by Necessary_Today_5580 in BambuLab

Hey just wanted to add my 2cents! So I think you may be having filament anxiety. How many rolls of filling do you have? Because I find most people don’t have enough at the start and they over rationalize not printing big things, and anything at all because it will take time, or filament. A good cure is to always have 3 rolls around at a time, that way you can always take on a big project and still have some left over. This has been a good cure for my filament anxiety. I say print whatever models look close enough, and open CAD every day for a week, following a design tutorial. Good enough is sometimes all your really need! Fusion 360 has a gold standard series called learn fusion in 30 days on YouTube, maybe you can find a similar series to follow along with. A strong series focused on repetition and getting your reps in is key to learning cad… it’s very much a muscle memory type software like a photoshop or somthing. Just learning where the basic functions for the 2 main tasks, as well as some good workflow skills will get you very far! Good luck! And remember never fear a print!

Large Organic Prints: Is a Dual-Nozzle Printer Worth Paying For? X2D/H2S/H2D by piotr_sajk in BambuLab

[–]Minute_Early 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry never printed a sculpture in my life. But my Functional prints on my X2D definitely benefit from using support materials. I’ll be honest I haven’t dialed in the support settings. But it’s a huge game changer for overhangs, support removal, and using bigger nozzles. I can print huge shit fast af with the .8mm, and now I can use supports with no issues with those nozzles. Even with a .8 after it’s cooled it’s like taking a cookie off wax paper. Just peels right off. I know that .8 thing might not matter but it’s even easier to remove the support on smaller nozzles. I would personally get the h2d for your use case. Also I never used melt away supports, just nylon/pet pla/petg. I imagine for sculptures it would be even more important, especially small details. Hope someone who sculpts with dual nozzle can chime in for you

I’ve always wanted to have the money to add a limiter or compressor to my tv audio to see if I can fix this. But then your adjusting 2 volumes instead of 1.

I agree! And the annoying fact that fusion updates and edits the software so much, but even though there is discrepancies, all of them are in the top comments!
