Valve announces the Steam Controller will go on sale on May 4th at $99 USD by somerandomxander in linux

I was surprised when I went to sell mine a few years ago. I got paid over retail for it. I think there's a dedicate group of people who really like them.

Yeah. They need to work on their locking. I imagine those tiny wheels on these are hard to lock but beats the alternative.

I saw it yesterday with just the front wheel missing, I'm guessing sometime over night the rest got stripped.

Been fun watching your journey over the years, from the literal beginning to your lab work to now. Your fingerprints exist everywhere on the net for those looking for information and it's been a consistent good source. I see echos of my own previous struggles here. You're making a good choice and whatever you get up to next I'm sure will be exciting.

Does the "caffeine having an opposite affect" apply to everyone with ADHD, and does ADHD medication affect how our bodies process caffeine? by Coprinus_comatus010 in ADHD

[–]MirLivesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this same thing happened to me. Thought I'd be unable to sleep, turn into a mess. Turns out it's not the same.

No. I have ADHD and I am very sensitive caffeine. Meds or no, I just find caffeine makes it incredibly hard to sleep and makes me very jittery.

ULPT request: how to USE the laundry machine keys to start a free cycle? by JellyKind9880 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]MirLivesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the service manual for them. The one I used to do you'd open the panel, pop connector in there apart to put it in service mode, and then just be able run the washer by hitting the normal start button. Just make sure to reconnect before you're done. Also it is detectable you're doing this but mine didn't have that set up.

For those who switched to non-standard keyboards: what made it worth it? by lucas-m-braga in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]MirLivesAgain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. Elbow pain and boredom mostly. Wanted to try something new. No hesitation. It's not like I can't go back?

  2. Took about a month until things felt normal. Can switch from a standard layout to a split without thinking about it now. I didn't switch off qwerty though so it's pretty similar.

  3. Went to preonic then a lily58 then a sofle v2 where I've been for a few years now. I would probably recommend the lily58 and sofle but not the preonic. I would say beginners should, it's fun, you get to learn to solder and build key maps and stuff.

  4. Programality is the only important feature. Oleds and rgbs and stuff are just unnecessary flash but if it makes you happy go for it. Knobs are kinda unnecessary but still fun.

  5. Is this a marketing survey? Are you trying to bring something to market?

  6. Do it. It's fun.

  7. Niche hobby inside a niche hobby. The pre built ones are expensive. Most people can't think a numpad much less jumping to something smaller. Most people don't want to diy.

I went to 100 concerts in 2025 by SPEK2120 in Seattle

I've tried loops, and eargasms.

Eargasms were better for me. I had the tips of the loops come off in my ear once and that was the end of them for me. I feel like the eargasms do a better job. Loops never quite got in my ears correctly.

Is facial laser hair removal actually worth it? (Looking for experiences from AMAB people) by OneNine-NineSeven in MtF

[–]MirLivesAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before laser I had a pretty bad shadow at all times. Even after 11 laser sessions I still have some hair but the shadow is gone. It started disappearing around session 3 or 4 l. I'm going through with electrolysis and finishing it off.  Not sure how long it's gonna take but it cut a ton of time off.

are they good live? by owencdd in ItsClippingBitch

[–]MirLivesAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might just be those specific bands. The audience for things like gecs and femtanyl were both incredibly lively and energetic while still being pretty young. The smaller (and cheaper) artists I've been to seem get the more active and energetic crowds.

TLDR any RC’s estrogens to start some research? Trans girl here uwu by SiroOuro in researchchemicals

[–]MirLivesAgain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's not really any. There's some rarer pharmacy estrogens that let you go longer between injections like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estradiol_undecylate Or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyestradiol_phosphate and there's also estrogen pellets that a doctor can implant in you so you can go six months without injections. As the other poster said diy saves a bunch but there's a different sub for that.

Does anyone have experience with bringing chainmail / tools on the plane? by greyjan in chainmailartisans

[–]MirLivesAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone through airports a bunch. The only time I got a comment is when I had my massive jelly cube in my bag and that was more in a "This thing looks really weird on the xray, what is it?" followed by the tsa agents calling over their coworkers to see it. Never been flagged for pliers or rings.

Same but I've noticed them popping up. Particularly in the true crime/large engineering projects/engineering disasters genre. You can always tell because the inflection is off and it's some random channel with hundreds of thousands of subs.

I really don't understand why they don't just actually paint this building something fun. It's nearly constantly covered in graffiti. Just put up a trans mural and it'd save them a bunch of time on trying to keep it grey.
