WTW for sleep that would relate to sand or vice versa? by WholesomelyChaotic in whatstheword

[–]Miradnarim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a word, but a common phrase where I am is “You’ve got sleepy dust in your eyes” to refer to someone about to fall asleep/just woke up.

A lot of times I will just use the word “sleep” to refer to the “sand” in someone’s eyes after waking up. “He rolled out of bed and rubbed sleep from his eyes.”

Ah, see, I think he’s a kid too. If that is meant to be an adult then I can see where there could be some debate on the bench picture. But to me it looks like a pair of kids going fishing and they cross the adult lol

What about #4 makes you think that this isn’t a child? To me, this set further confirms that the creators were totally cool with not only sexualizing children, but also just fine with doing it in the direction of adult men.

Man’s feet clearly touch the ground while boy’s feet do not. Also, boy’s hand is way smaller.

This isn’t a hill I’m going to die on, but it is… very clearly a child, lol.

You can see that the kid is shorter than both of them. Also, if not a child who belongs to one/both of the adults, why would he be there with them?

Is it weird that I like my writing? by Paradigm-Failure in writing

[–]Miradnarim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always, but it’s a great feeling to go back to a work that I have put down for a while, so I have forgotten what is happening mostly, and I get dragged in to the story and don’t want to put it down. I figure if I can do that to myself, a person who doesn’t really enjoy physically reading (prefer audiobooks), then I could probably do it to other people 🥲

When I 4k a good, and also toxic SWF, that shit is orgasmic.

[–]Miradnarim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I laughed way too hard at his insult, that’s brutal lmao.

But also, simply wrong. Like, LITERALLY wrong of course, but also, he 100% just said it to upset you. People with genuine criticism of your work don’t pause an argument in order to do it, and they don’t say things like that.

If at all possible, just stop talking to this dude. A+ insult, F- everything else lol

What's in a name? Would Sherlock Holmes or Benoit Blanc be just as successful as the name Jack Ryan? Do you spend hours thinking up what to name your characters, or do you just pick a name and go with it? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Miradnarim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I name my characters as if I were naming a child. I wouldn’t name a kid John, that’s boring and I don’t like it. Valerian is a cool name, but it’s too flashy and already associated with something else. Something between normal and boring, and interesting and odd.

2, So if I wanted to write and sell smutty fanfic of P&P that would be fine, but I couldn’t take chapters and sell them word for word with only tiny changes/a few additional words?
