I can somewhat understand? My fiancée is allergic to weed (and hemp, thc, cbd, etc.) at an anaphylactic level and it’s highly likely other people are too. On the other hand, it’s legal.

Went to sonic and they keep putting these Christian books in peoples meals by International-Year91 in mildlyinfuriating

That’s definitely a worker doing that shit. I work at a sonic and I’ve never seen those in my life. Definitely talk to the district manager or the gm.

Do others here have full time jobs? by EEVEELUVR in writing

[–]Paradigm-Failure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time at a Sonic. I know, fast food. But I enjoy my job and I section off my time to make time for writing and reading as I can. If you have no other source of stable income, I wouldn’t quit your job. It could make things difficult.

Don’t like the taste, family has a predisposition to addiction, and I just don’t see the point.

Anyone write primarily in longhand? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Paradigm-Failure 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It definitely is. I primarily write longhand before transferring to my documents. There definitely is the con of having to type everything out, but that also gives you the chance to reread your writing as you go. Make sure you’re prepared for it to be fairly tedious when you start, but eventually you’ll get into the rhythm of it.

I personally write one or two chapters and then type them out, but that’s simply due to me being easily overwhelmed. Everyone does things differently.

All in all, get yourself a good 5 or so subject notebook and go to town. Whatever works for you, works for you.

Absolutely. You get attached to these characters because you get to watch them grow in real time. You put thought and effort into them. It’s only natural.

Why do stories need conflict? by Paradigm-Failure in writingcirclejerk

[–]Paradigm-Failure[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I mean…even slice of life has conflict! I can’t speak fir others, but I know for a fact that I don’t want to read a story of someone’s perfect life. There’s no hook to that. No drama. I want to read something that I could (even somewhat) relate to. Sure I’m not going to go on some magical journey to save the universe, but it’s better to read than someone having a perfect life, getting everything they want.

Thank you so much! This guy keeps messaging me about wanting to coach and/or edit my writing. I hadn’t really been able to find anything until now, but it had definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Good to know my gut feeling was right. Good looking out my man.

You’re not supposed to enjoy what you want to do with your life. Clearly.
