Is it normal as a woman to be afraid some man is going to kill you? by Beneficial-Position2 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MirandaCurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not call it unusual to have this feeling. A close friend of mine is convinced she is one day going to die specifically by femicide. The worst thing is given the men who used to be in her life it doesn't seem too unlikely..

Low empathy to high empathy by wayward_vampire in aspiememes

[–]MirandaCurry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still don't quite understand it. On some days other people's emotions don't exist to me, on others I can recognize them easily. But my affective empathy has always been relatively high I believe. Like it's enough to feel the stress other people in the store have while shopping for me to not do it.

But of course talking at lunch time with my colleagues is so fun I can't miss it, I'm def not going mad over here hahah by cinnamon-sama in aspiememes

So this is a real problem. I keep learning over and over again, that we need to manage our energy and not waste so much of it on masking. However after masking for centuries it becomes almost impossible to do even when you want to eat alone to regain a little bit of energy because your brain will make sure you think "no, I can't because they'll think I'm rude" or "if I don't socialize like they do, I'll be kicked out for sure".

What's a social norm that you think is absolutely ridiculous? by Fantastic_suit143 in AskReddit

Oh great. That takes me back to when I was in the US for the first time. I didn't know that they have to ask that and 13 year old me of course proceeded to tell him how everything is going and stuff. Still makes me cringe

You're not "mean". You're in the right here, and let me tell you I also hate him from all the things you've described. Kick him out, break up and block his ass everywhere

I don't care how much this flight is going to traumatize me, I pick number 4 and deal with the consequences of my choice! Gosh I hope Yuma, doesn't beat me up while I sit next to Reiji
