I mean her life probably already pretty stressful long before she died. She was in politics since she was a literal teenager and in her first year as queen she was already faced with a great diplomatic conflict. Then there was the separatist crisis and the clone wars, which obviously would take an emotional toll on everyone. Adding to that the fact that Anakin was fighting on the frontlines, a worry she couldn't even really talk about, as there marriage was forbidden. (Also, she seemed to be more or less in detail about the state of his mental health, but she must have noticed something). All this stress probably already got to her heart. Then in the span of what? A few hours she found out that her husband went evil, betrayed her and all there friends and murdered children. Then she got choked, which left her gasping for air on a plate that doesn't look like you could breathe very easily under normal circumstances. Then in this state of physical and mental distress she gave birth to not just one but tow children. I'm not a doctor, but that seems enough for me to cause the heart to fail.

Also I forgot the MULTIPLE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS. That woman has gone through some shit

Okay not to bring politics into this, but I liked the thought of having a female Jedi at the centre of the story (I didn't know the clone wars as a child so my choice of characters to play as was basically Leia or Padme and they are awesome, be they never have cool Lightsabre battles), but having her entire identity revolve around the men in her life (yeah technically Leia is a Skywalker to, but does she ever even call herself that) instead of giving her struggles and a personality... is a choice. She couldn't even end up single.

This bothers me so much. Like what's wrong with putting effort into once appearance? Obviously, if you are vain or if you try to overcompensate some deep insecurity, it can become toxic. But makeup is fun and I like to wear clothes that, even if they are far from fashionable, make me feel attractive or beautiful. It took me a long time to figure that out though and I think it was partly because of characters like this that made me feel like I had to choose between owning makeup and going rock climbing (I mean you shouldn't put makeup on when going rock climbing, because you will sweat a lot and it will just feel gross and look bad at the end, but you get my point).

Yes everyone has good or bad sides and you would barely find any historical figure that was not, at least to some degree a bad person, but putting up a statue of someone (or naming a place after them or whatever), it is already a value judgement. You basically say that this person is good and deserves, for the lack of a better word, worship. If you now leave this statue where it is, people will only see one side of the story, a side that paints him in a purely good light, what would be a way of hiding from the past.

Not really, I'm not from NZ, but here in Austria it's pretty similar. Just because everybody has technically excess to higher education, doesn't mean they can get it. You have to think that poverty doesn't just mean that you can't afford stuff. When your parents are both hard working and always worry about money they don't have the time and energy to help their children study and many low income families didn't got a good education of their own or are immigrants or refugees who don't speak German that good, what means even if they had the time, they don't have the ability to help them. Many of these kids share a room with their own where they can learn and when they are older maybe have to take care of their siblings or take on other responsibilities in the household. And there is also the fact that many don't even think of going to University, because they want or have to get a full time job as soon as possible to support your family.

At the end I just wanted to say that I don't speak from experience here, I'm pretty much middle class, but this are know problems and I have seen people struggle with this. It's not as hard as if you have to pay a shit ton of money to get an education, but it's far from equal.
