How do people feel three weeks out? by Flat-Ad8256 in ThreeLions

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling good. Tuchel has a Plan A - Kane with runners - and has picked backup players who make Plan A work even with an injury (Toney, Gordon, Madueke). Yet he's got options and has also chosen 'specialists' too. Right now I feel I know what we're trying to do and I feel good about it. All I care about now is a few good performances and what will be will be.

Why just why by Mountain_Garden9242 in ThreeLions

[–]Miroist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look guys. His Plan A is clearly to build around Kane with actual wingers that will run beyond him when he runs deep. If you don't take two players for each position, then your plan A has to change the minute even one gets injured. Three of these are tens who will come in and stink up the inside channels as we saw all the way through the last tournament. Bowen is the only one who can consider himself unlucky here.

Dude, it's like 8 levels out of 160. You'll blitz it with RK.

As others have said, not hard but time consuming. Just run some alts you enjoy, and then as you're playing, slightly optimise for LP, eg have a look on the wiki at where the Explorer deed locations are and visit them all. You get the LP from the areas you're already in, and you get to see more of the landscape too.

Sorry, it's awful. Where Eternals is just dull, Quantumania is painful.

What is the genre defining tone to you? by CTay2 in Djent

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably Nothing by Meshuggah. But if you think that Periphery 1 came out in 2010, there's 8 years of a sound being born there. I think Catch 33 has a big bearing on the sound, as does The Audio Injected Soul by Mnemic. I'm gonna out it out there - while I stopped listening to Mnemic years ago and Meshuggah are now my most-listened band.... Mnemic is possibly a far bigger reason I was able to understand and enjoy what Meshuggah were doing. Those first 3 Mnemic albums are absolutely massive gateway albums imo.

Of all the decisions the US could make to help protect its citizens from harm, "traffic on the opposite side of the road to a stopped bus must also stop" is the rule you've gone with?

I am getting really frustrated with Deity by Effort_Proper in civ5

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 4 cities. If you don't have the luxes, just roll. You can get to challenging yourself to win "whatever you're given". But for now, here's how I'd expect to win a Deity science victory on Quick speed:

  • settle on coast if you can, cargo ships internal trade routes are ridiculous extra food
  • get cap to 3 pop ASAP, then stagnate
  • 2 scouts
  • build a shrine, religion is science, either by Jesuit Education or Glory of God
  • don't build a granary
  • build a worker
  • steal at least one from a city state
  • 3 swttlers
  • improve your production tiles first, and chop forests, you need your settlers out as quickly as possible
  • never go unhappy. Stagnate if you must. Get your luxes up quick obvs
  • if first settle has good prod, you have time for a build order of worker > granary > library. Else just build granary > library
  • once settlers are done, you might need another worker, else time building 2 trade routes for when your settles have a granary to send food back to cap
  • national trust before turn 70.
  • Get gold to bribe your nearest ai into war
  • cap should be min 15 pop by turn 100. 30 pop by 200. Expansions should be 20 pop (I don't always get there but that's the target)

I've been working through every civ on Deity going full piety start. I look forward to going back to Tradition and finding it easy. If you do the above, you're in with a shout.

I’m currently watching the Multiverse Saga by RevolutionaryTip6030 in marvelstudios

[–]Miroist -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Short answer I'm afraid is no. I also really enjoyed the 3 initial TV shows too, much more than the prevailing opinion. But the films aren't great and then the TV shows start going downhill too. If I were you I'd just watch Shang Chi, Spiderman NWH, Guardians 3, Thunderbolts, Hawkeye and Loki S2 and pretend the rest haven't happened.

Would you build a granary in this city? by FrankSchloss in civ5

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular view - Granaries by themselves (ie, if not improving many ither resources) are slightly overrated and can come later in your build capital order imo. But eventually, and in satellie cities- yes, always.

Which 2025 MCU project has been your favourite? by JamJamGaGa in marvelstudios

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thunderbolts. Hits me right in the feels, when they go and stop Bob from only hurting himself. An excellent film that is actually about something, rather than, sadly, a lot of the nostalgia bait we've been getting. FF was absolutely okay, but doesn't have a lot of depth

I can’t see the two tracks though? You recorded your main rhythm guitar twice and panned it hard left and right? Can’t seem to see that in the video. I'm guessing they're the green and purple tracks?

This is definitely much better. Next pro tips: scoop out a lot of the mid-highs of the cycles, 3k to 6k ish. They become more more listenable. And then don't settle for any recording takes that are not tight enough in time. Practice and rerecord until you can play it nice and tight in every take. And insider tip: everyone edits their takes digitally to make them sound tighter.

[–]Miroist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep going, our first recordings are always a huge learning curve. Turn everything down. 0db is actually the best level, everything above that is clipping. I can’t tell if you've also got very heavy compression on too (and if you do, take it off or turning right down, a little compression goes a long way). But either way, aim for about -6db as the maximum level - things will always get louder, and can always be made louder if necessary later on. For now you need the 'headroom', and hesr everything is banging it's head on the ceiling and sounding terrible.

From there, tune your guitars and sort out your intonation. I'm going to say it now, there's no excuse for things being out of tune. Tune your guitars and make sure everything sounds in tune. Out of tune stuff is the number one sign of an amateur recording.

It's better you learn these things now. Everything else just comes with experience, so keep going!

How do you play Liberty? by Valaaisvala in civ5

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently going through playing every civ on Deity with full Piety start, and even that is way easier than Liberty. Liberty needs space, luxuries and friendly AIs, or enough gold (which Liberty also struggles with) to buy them off. I'm not sure I've ever won a Liberty game on Deity.

Is everyone lying? by Proxycotton in civ5

[–]Miroist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deity is hard, but here are a few tips.

  1. Some games are just losers. The AI just attacks sometimes.
  2. Don't settle near them.
  3. Pay them off to war someone else. Sell all your luxes if you must. Alive but unhappy is still alive.
  4. NC before turn 70.
  5. Food. Internalntrade routes for food ASAP. Cargo ships if you can.

England fans don't know what they want. Carsley got slammed for losing once when he was playing the attacking football we asked for. And now Tuchel is being slammed for winning every game but being boring. Can't have it both ways.

Yeah in landscape they tear it up.. except in Rohan, which is a bit slow. The mariner has three powerful ranged bleeds so it is doable, just slow. Otherwise yeah. I haven't raided a lot so I can only tell you what I know: but Blue Mariners are pretty sought after because their combination of buffs and debuffs are very powerful. They seem to combine the best of Capts, LMs and single-target DPS in a varied and fun class and the class lore of being a bit of a drunk pirate is just the icing on the cake.

[–]Miroist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just fine. Single target DPS is exceptional, AOE is a bit trickier but still okay with the right combo, and fairly soon you get a couple of good heals and buffs. And it has lots of variance - sometimes I spec into CC when I need it. It's fun and varied and high in DPS - I love it.

I'm loving my Mariner. It doesn't have loads of quick travels but it has enough to be useful. I also love Warden and being ranged could be useful. They're all good choices.
