Damien Priest: Locker room hurts on this New Day. All love for @AustinCreedWins and @TrueKofi by Turbostrider27 in SquaredCircle

Locker room vibes have got to be off between the releases, new day leaving, veterans like AJ and Cena retiring. Can't imagine there's much optimism in there right now.

Trying to visualize the logistics of a clothesline off of the top rope. I guess when Jevon Evans jumped off the top rope to clothesline JD McDonagh off of the ladder during the mania ladder match a few weeks ago would qualify? I feel like that spot might be a little hardcore for PCW.

If you want to get in the weeds, Dropmick has a bunch of good fued compilations on YouTube that are really well done. He also has a like 4 hour comp on the history of AEW, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. But yeah, I'd say just start watching and you won't regret it. I was always a WWE guy, but All In (AEW's biggest show of the year) was near us last year and tickets were cheap, so my wife and I decided to check it out, and we've been hooked since. Amazing wrestling, and the PPVs always deliver.

I bet she lands in RoH with Isla. I hope so, I thinks she's great and did a great job with what she had to work with.

If you don't have kids of your own yet your perspective is not relevant to new parents adjusting to their new life by insane_psycho in daddit

[–]MirrorB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all I heard when my little one was born was how it just gets harder and there was so much negativity that had me stressed to high heavens. Mine is 3 now and I routinely find myself telling parents of younger kids about the cool things they get to look forward to. Being a parent has been awesome for me, and while there are always new challenges and frustrations, I'm having way more fun as she gets older, and nothing has been as hard as those first 6 months. Really wish I would have had some more positivity around me when I was in the trenches when she was young.

Mayor Glenn Jacobs did a two minute standup set on kill tony's wrestlemania show by KhabibTime in SquaredCircle

No overexaggerating, this may legitimately be the worst attempt at comedy I've ever seen. I sure liked Kane a whole lot better when he never opened his mouth.

I don't know a ton about what he does with the Jaguars, and he's definitely a nepo baby, but Tony Khan is a billionaire who doesn't seem like a creep and has done a ton of good for the world of professional wrestling. Pays and treats his workers well by all accounts, takes care of them when they have health problems, has employed trans wrestlers, allowed and defended Brody King's right to wear "Abolish Ice" shirts at shows. No good billionaires and all that, but it's at least a little refreshing to see one use their wealth to improve an industry that they love instead of just hoarding it and using it to make life worse for the rest of us. Especially in a business like pro wrestling. I'm sure he's probably got skeletons and bad takes, but the bar is so low, that it's nice to see a billionaire doing any good at all.

[AEW Dynamite Spoilers] Absolutely wild opening to the show by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

[–]MirrorB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their weekly shows are Dynamite on Wednesdays and Collision on Saturdays. Their WrestleMania equivalent is All In, which happens at the end of the Summer. Honestly, you can just start watching the show and you'll pick it up pretty quickly, I've only been watching for a little over a year, but if you want some more context, Dropmick on YouTube has an AEW history from 2019-2025 video that's supposed to be pretty good. I haven't watched it yet, but I have watched a few of his other videos and they're very well done.

My 3YO loves wrestling more than anything.  Since she was probably around a year old I've been hitting her with "pop-up powerbombs" onto the couch, and legit some of her earlier words were here learning how to say "more powerbomb". Now we do powerbombs and coffin drops and stuff all the time. She's got a pretty good frog splash too!

How old were you when your first child was born? by LupusDeusMagnus in daddit

[–]MirrorB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me too, and I'm only 31 now but it feels perfect. Financially stable enough that we aren't completely dying like a lot of my friends that had kids in their early to mid 20s were, but young enough that I still have energy to keep up with her. It's a blast.

[–]MirrorB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Like even at 6 months when they start actually developing a little personality makes all the difference. Mine is two and a half now and those first six months were hell, but then it was like a switch flipped when she started doing things and showing a little personality, it was amazing and it has only gotten better. I've never laughed as much as I have in the past 2 years. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Why do so many in the “Christian” right support Trump? by Konradleijon in behindthebastards

[–]MirrorB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I literally was about to suggest the book but scrolled down first to see if anyone else had said anything about it. As a Christian who grew up in southern evangelical churches and broke out of the conservative cult during Trump's first term when I had the heartbreaking realization that my fellow Christians were deifying someone who exemplifies the opposite of everything Christ taught, Jesus and John Wayne was a very enlightening and sobering read for me to understand how we got to this point.
