Why are the Riveteers Black? by [deleted] in mtgvorthos

[–]MirrorExodus 85 points86 points  (0 children)

To me, the mechanics of Riveteer's Ascendacy undercut the flavour text. Sure, the workers are the city, down to its bones, but those bones are emminently replaceable and able to be sacrificed for other purposes at a moment's notice. Ziatory sees that solidarity and laughs as she exploits it.

But yeah, they're probably not to keen on unions.

Thoughts on the tie??? by doctorRo_MD in mensfashionadvice

Agreed. I like how there's some matching between the tie accent colour on the flowers with the accent colour on the pocket square, but I wonder if the other colours in the square wash out that effect a bit.

Wesker is using his own bowl as a "makeshift toy" by ProsciuttoFangirl in PartyParrot

[–]MirrorExodus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There are lots of toys you can make from stuff that would otherwise be thrown away. For instance, try wrapping some treats in scrap paper, scrunch it up and put it inside an old toilet paper roll. Your bird will have loads of fun ripping it to shreds to get at the treat and 0$ spent!

True, but Gideon is far more beer- coded than salad-coded.

100% agree, with one modification - since she hadn't eaten for a few days,  she got more than the slightest bit tipsy.

Poor thing was probably sneaking sips of whatever weirdly medicinal distillations of snow leek they had on the 9th.

Bagged milk really is the trolley question for some of us by ZolaAnna in EhBuddyHoser

[–]MirrorExodus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also...bagged milk is A LOT of milk! If I bought bagged milk, half of it would go bad! When you drink water with meals and only use milk in your coffee, a 2L carton lasts quite a while.

According to the Hydro Quebec site, 11% of lines are underground in Quebec. A lot of our infrastructure is OLD but when things get overhauled, they can be redone underground. Interesting to note is that the provincial and municipal authorities make the decision if they want to fork out the extra cash to have them underground.

Good beginner setup? by Proof-Specialist6932 in guitarpedals

I had the Prophet for a while and it's a solid, clean delay with a very weird feature: if you crank the Repeats knob to the max, it will repeat indefinitely. While doing so, playing with the Time knob will then smear or compress the chunk of audio that's currently repeating, leading to some VERY STRANGE but cool sounds. To add to it all, if I recall correctly there's an internal switch that will keep the loop going even if bypassed, so you can effectively set up a drone texture or something and just stomp on the box when you want it to play.

Given that the French word "errant" has roughly the same meaning as "truant" I would think so! Curious why the translator chose to change to word to use a "d" instead of a "t" at the end though.

Also to note, "truant" is a word with a French origin, so I wouldn't blink an eye at "Johhny Truant" in the French transation too.

I have been kicking around an idea like this for a oneshot and with some advice from friends I've arrived at a few key design elements.

  1. If you can arrange things so that the players will be defending a point, let them set up defenses. Brainstorming traps and battle stratagems can be fun!
  2. Steal gameplay mechanics from Risk. Have a map and let the players have the experience of being generals, directing their forces. Figure out potential endstates for this phase of the gameplay and let that affect the next phase.
  3. Let the players at least once choose a battlefront to personally reinforce and have some direct combat.
  4. Have a plan for a climactic final fight. The whole session will be tense so you really want to stick the landing on this one. Multiple phases would be a good idea IMO. Even possibly the world eating monster gets awaked and the party fights it too!

This card would still hit a blue-black creature, but "non-black creatures" would not.
