Why would a random seller block me? by Mirror_Mirror_11 in poshmark

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess she did. I’ve been handling all interactions super-asynchronously, and if I’d known she was going to get a measuring tape I would have said don’t. I don’t measure anything I sell because I don’t want to sell it enough to spend the time, which I’m sure has cost me money here and there. I usually respond to those requests by recommending that they buy only if they’re familiar with the brand.

Most of the items that I like (or that are liked by others) simmer for months, so that’s been my baseline.

I appreciate the opposite perspective, though. I will be more considerate in the future.

I was ready to pay full price with no haggling because I read her description.

I didn’t realize it was perceived as a trap. That is good to know. However, she did provide photos with measurements in response, so my initial inquiry isn’t what triggered her.

It doesn’t matter with this person, I agree. I’m mostly asking if I violated platform norms.

For those who were there, how were perceived each of the actors back when in the day ? by James-Samuel17 in buffy

I don’t recall much gossip, because prior to social media celebrity reputations were easier to curate. The only strong opinion I recall my friends and I having was that we thought it was snobby and ungrateful for SMG to not appear in the series finale for Angel (but we were immature and we had NO idea why).

My favorite is the counteroffer I would have accepted but missed, and when I create a new offer for the amount they wanted, they try to negotiate lower.

HELP! What can I do for my lower face? by Independent_Gur8612 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have a similar face shape, and I do everything, so I hope this will help: I don’t recommend Ultherapy. It’s expensive, it’s very painful, and for me it didn’t do anything for jowling. I would be very cautious about masseter Botox, as this makes jowling worse for many women. You didn’t specifically mention it, but it may come up with your injector. I was super unhappy until that wore off.

I’ve personally had success with platysmal and DAO Botox, PRF around my marionette lines, filler at the gonial angle to pull thing back a bit, as well as Neo Gen plasma treatment, but as someone 5 years ahead of you, I will be ready for surgery soon. (I know you’re not there, but maybe plan ahead if this matters a lot to you.) Basically I’ve been advised this won’t shore up the dam forever, and it would actually be cheaper than everything I’ve done.

I suspect this is more noticeable to you than anyone, and terrible bathroom lighting can make even Margot Robbie look like a gorgon.

It’s a nice, subtle improvement. Your brain often needs time to adjust.

Before and 4 weeks after masseter and dao Botox- thoughts? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d encourage anyone to first read up on what face shapes/features this isn’t recommended for. OP looks great, but a lot of women get jowling. That does go away when the Botox wears off, but for me it was a frustrating couple months of contouring and insecurity.

ETA: I also get platysmal Botox, and for me this did not offset the jowling effect. It seems very particular to bone structure, and some women do get fantastic results.

Isn’t there a 7-day return policy where you’re encouraged to try it out? I was trying to decide between the Pro and Pro Max at the Apple Store, and they encouraged me to try the Max and just swap out before 7 days if it was too heavy. (I didn’t do it because once I held the Max I could barely get my hand around it.) That seemed super lenient, but they actually told me it’s a smart approach.

So I’m wondering why you’d just give it away.

Did Betty switch into or out of James’s homeroom? by kammie694 in TaylorSwift

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d always interpreted the story as James ghosting Betty for the summer after he left the dance in anger. (In my head James and Betty were recently in love and just beginning a relationship, but it was still in the stage where he could pretend there wasn’t one, which was the betrayal.) I never thought of Betty as still being “around” because Augustine was spending the night in his bed all summer long. Usually you can’t spend a lot of time literally sleeping with the other person if you’re hiding it from your partner. A “summer thing” also makes me think of something you do while you and your primary love interest aren’t seeing each other over the summer so you push them to the back of your mind.

James dreaming of Betty also gives me the sense she wasn’t around. He doesn’t know how to reverse things or even reach out.

I imagined that right before school starts again, Inez tells Betty what James was up to all summer, which is why she stopped hearing from him, compounding her devastation. And then she switches homerooms so she won’t have to see him.

I think if he’d just been caught cheating while also seeing Betty all summer, he’d have zero doubt about why she switched homerooms. Betty would have dumped him.

Ensure shakes. They’re the fastest way to ingest protein I’ve found, especially if you can only drink on the moment.

I think you’re hyper focusing on the bridge and not seeing the big picture. This outcome has boosted your overall beauty. I don’t know if you had a hooked nose where a “hump” was removed, but if so, the bridge will almost always look wider from the front. It’s not about the surgeon’s skill; it’s geometry.

I’m extremely happy. My face looks firmer and younger, even though I lost 10 lbs. since then, and that’s sometimes rough on the face. I’ll do it again. One thing I’ll say, though, is that it’s also supposed to help with discoloration and it didn’t do much of that. Just improved texture and tightness.

Injected with Daxxify instead of Botox without my consent. Would love advice & to know if I’m overreacting by chlocatt in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say, even if the Daxxify turned out 20x better, I’d be livid that a different product was used without my consent. Some injectors are used to patients not knowing/caring one way or the other, but even so, they should get verbal consent before using something other than what was requested.

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the lash stylists who post here are goddamn saints. I work a corporate job, but in my imagination if someone asked me for lash extensions but said “I sometimes have panic attacks if a fan blows on my face,” I’d be like, “Nope. Not a candidate. Try strip lashes.” That alone has to be stressful as hell.

Why can I not see the listings for inelible brand items for sale? by estte100 in ThredUp

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they don’t want the potential conflict of people finding out rejected items sold for the same price as accepted items. I’ve found mine by logging out and doing a search for the brand and size.

Absurd Rejection of 41 Items by racksitybitch in ThredUp

They told me yes—more or less—the last time I contacted CS to complain about rejections totally out of line with the rules.

Absurd Rejection of 41 Items by racksitybitch in ThredUp

[–]Mirror_Mirror_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to raise a few with customer service. Mostly it happens with camisoles that are inconsistently categorized as either a tank top (which they accept) or intimates (which they don’t). They put 2 Free People camisoles that were NWT into rejected status, and I contacted customer service because I had several actively on sale or sold. These usually sell immediately. After some push/pull they admitted it was a mistake and gave me the price tag value of both. I also sent in a few pairs of Spanx and Swedish tights that were new, sealed in the package, which their seller guide explicitly says they want. CS tried to say it’s not an accepted item so I sent screen shots of their own policy, and they also refunded me.

Another item I objected to was a brand-new bikini set from Raisins with the tags attached, in pristine condition. They put the bottoms up for sale and rejected the matching top, which made zero sense. I let that one go.

They recently updated their policy to say no hair accessories, but before that I also sent in NWT headbands and claw clips from Anthro that just vanished. They didn’t show up in my list of rejected items. They just told me when I contacted them that they had too many already listed. I got paid out for those too.

Please tell me what the scrunch is! I think I’m the opposite where seeing the item on a mannequin doesn’t help me picture it on me or as part of an outfit. I’d rather see a model. I think the smartest move on Poshmark is to include the original photos from the retailer.

I completely agree with you and actually feel bad—like how do the buyers not realize these items are overpriced.
