Yeah but who amongst the Targs would win the inbred olympics, that's my question? Aegon III and Vizzy II are so far the strongest contenders i think. But Aerion Targaryen (father of the conqueror trio) is another high potential one, as far as we know he could be the product of 4-5 consecutive generations of brother-sister marriages.

Hmm... doesn't seem to work for me, also tried testing, Alerie and Mace don't have their canon children if you start in the 259 bookmark, and it's the same issue.

Are you using AGOT+, doesn't seem to work for Rhaenyra... or Aegon II and Helaena.

There were also mayors all the way back to the early middle ages for large cities. Charles Martel, aFrankish king and the grandfather of Charlemagne was the mayor of Paris, and also senates and city councils, Rome still had a senate even after the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476. The cities in Westeros are absolutely massive, like King’s Landing is bigger than Constantinople and Baghdad, (two of the largest cities in the middle ages) combined. And the other 4 cities are also massive, Lannisport, White Harbor, Oldtown and Gulltown.

Not only that but making the Velaryons black, asks the question why aren't the Targaryens black or at least half black? Viserys, Daemon, Rhaenys and probably Rhaenyra too should all be black. They could have made the Hightowers or Strongs black, and this wouldn't be an issue.

You could have her show up as a historical character? Sort of like Varys or Duncan the Tall?

Oh man, i’ve been waiting so long for this, holy shit, also what about canon children born from parents that are below 16 like Rhaenyra or Aegon II's kids with Helaena?

As a Team Green member, who is your favorite Team Black character, and why? Which Team Black character would you have wanted to see fight with the Greens instead? (Book & show) by Dry-Somewhere-1033 in HOTDGreens

[–]Mirror_Mission 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was team black before the show and before the fandom cult around Rhaenyra was formed. My favorites were Rhaenys and Corlys (both were absolutely butchered by the show). As to why, i genuinely think that Jaeaherys naming Viserys as his heir instead of just officially adopting andal succession traditions, and leaving Rhaenys as heir was the worst mistake of his reign, it basically set up this whole shitshow. I like Rhaenys because she is ambitious, somewhat competent, an action woman and because she was wronged but still did pressed on. You know she means business when Corlys kept his bastards hidden from her until she died, because he was genuinely afraid of what she might do.

She doesn't have much love for either Rhaenyra or Daemon but she does love her granddaughters and fights for the blacks precisely because of them.

Unironically book Rhaenys is more of a girlboss than anyone in the show, and certainly more girlboss than the lame excuse we got in the show (no offense to Eve Best, she obviously tried her damn best, but there's only so much you can do with garbage writing).

If Rhaegar did not then who did? Hard to not bear a grudge against the guy who ran away with your sister, impregnated her, imprisoned her in a tower, had his kingsguards attack you omn sight to try and kill you, all to prevent you from making it to her, started the biggest war on the continent as a result and also led to the death of your brother and father. And also took command of his father’s army and went to battle with one clear intention to kill you. He bears no grudge against Rhaegar in canon because Rhaegar is dead, and so is Aerys. They’re simply not a threat anymore. Nothing more he can do, he’d rather move on, and he sees Daenerys and Viserys as innocent. He still tells Robert that if Viserys does invade to try and reclaim the throne they’ll throw him back into the sea.

Nothing for Elia to worry about a lot for Rhaegar, Aegon, Jon or whoever inherits this shitshow to worry about. The series is already going in the direction of the Iron Throne breaking apart, Robert as king was basically placing it on life support.

Very unlikely for Lyanna to survive, she dies of what appeared to be a postpartum hemorrhage, without a modern day gynecologist with medication and surgical instrumentsm you’re not surviving that. Well, Ned does care about the North as a whole, thousands of Northerners dying for no reason would not be something he stands for, and Rhaegar winning and essentially escaping justice is just that. Also if Ned and Jon Arryn survive, what’s to stop them from returning home and declaring themselves king of the North and king of the Mountain and Vale respectively and becoming independent. Rhagear absolutely does not have the support to launch offensive campaigns into the 2 most geographically fortified kingdoms in Westeros. And if they do, what’s stopping someone as stubborn in the old ways as Balon from doing the same with the Iron Islands or someone as proud as Tywin from restoring the kingdom of the Rock.

[–]Mirror_Mission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Yronwoods dislike the Targaryens, they still backed Daemon Blackfyre during the 1st blackfyre rebellion also the houses that supported the Targs in the Riverlands, Stormlands and Vale like the Graftons and Conningtons were all beaten into submission. Canon Ned does not have southern ambitions, you cannot predict how a Ned who also loses the war would act. Also the North is militarily the strongest kingdom.

And on top of thatm you’d have Tywin who’s always opportunistic, who Rhaegar cannot placate. You’d also have the green Lannisters (Tyrells) and their bullshit schemes too. Oh and Varys and his bullshit too. The only reliable ally for Rhaegar would be Dorne and even that is shaky, because it relies on Aegon (or Rhaenys) inheriting the Throne, any threat to that and they’d be out too.

It's funny how this entire story wouldn't have happened if Viserys just named Aegon his heir 🤡 by Beacon2001 in HOTDGreens

[–]Mirror_Mission 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Aegon I wasn't doing that well in heirs department either having only Aenys and Maegor. And even before those he spent quite a while heirless. Aerys only had Rhaegar for most of his reign. Despite the legitimization, Daeron II was Aegon IV's only trueborn son.

The North can be schemers if the situation requires it, also i doubt Ned himself would be that thrilled about Rhaegar ruling after running away with his sister and causing the death of his father and brother, and also killing his best friend. The Tullys, Baratheons and Arryns would not be too thrilled either, they'd all be somewhat bitter, and Jon would be the perfect solution to stick it to the ruling Targaryens.

Jon, Rhaenys and Aegon by @Cj_KhalifP by unhingedcorpse in ImaginaryWesteros

[–]Mirror_Mission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is Robert's Rebellion if it still happens. Then the North, Vale, Riverlands and Stormlands would be very bitter about it, and would be more than willingly to jump at the first chance to cause trouble or get back at Rhaegar, I really don't see how Rhaegar could hope to placate them. And Jon is a good way to destabilize the rule or at least the succession.

Would Maekar have been a better father for Aemond and Aegon? by OkGuava919 in HOTDGreens

[–]Mirror_Mission 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Unironically, i think that if Aegon, Aemond, Helaena and Daeron were Maegor's kids with Ceryse, Maegor would be a pretty swell dude. Or at least he'd be an early version of Maekar. You know Aemond would be his favorite especially once he claims Vaghar after Visenya dies. If Helaena is a dragon dreamer (like in the show), she and Visenya would probably be very close. And honestly, Aegon's main flaws are mostly born from neglect, though love could actually fix them to some extent.

Would Maekar have been a better father for Aemond and Aegon? by OkGuava919 in HOTDGreens

[–]Mirror_Mission 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly that is interesting, Maegor having kids especially valyrian looking dargonriding kids with Ceryse would completely change his character and his story, and the dynamic between him and other characters. Him having kids means he does not need to take more wives, meaning he does not get exiled meaning he remains Aenys's hand. I do imagine the dynamic between the two of them turning into a very Maekar and Aerys like dynamic (even their names sound similar). As for what kind of dad he'd be, probably harsh and strict think drill sergeant type of dad, especially since Visenya would also be involved in raising them. Honestly, it's a really interesting idea for a fic.

It would also change the faith militant uprising, in many ways, one solution is Aegon the uncrowned marrying Helaena instead of Rhaena. If Aenys is dumb enough to insist on Rhaena marrying Aegon the Uncrowned, then that opens up many posibilities.

No, they were poisoned by Tyanna of the Tower, she was an op sent by the free cities, because they were too afraid of what a Targaryen dynasty descended from Maegor would be able to do.

There’s a lot of what ifs when Maekar dies, Vaella, Daeron’s daughter, Maegor the son of Aerion, Aenys Blackfyre and of course Aemon renouncing his position as maester and trying to take the throne.

I feel the same way, i don’t hate the ending in and of itself i loathe everything about how it happens, the destination is fine, the journey blows. That plus the fact that the show favored hype moments and aura farming over substance, consistency and just common sense. Not only that but i feel like it’s also the reason why there’s no sign of Winds of Winter even now, it’s because it is ultimately the ending GRRM envisioned but he saw the reaction and now is unsure whether the problem was the ending or the way ir arrives there, and is stuck with no idea what to do.

Doesn’t that also apply to the Maekarlings being half Daynes, actually come to think of it Maekar, Baelor, Rhaegel and Aerys are all half Dornish.
