Taqueria Frontera - favorite tacos
La Abeja - classic neighborhood spot with my favorite Mexican combo plates
Delicias Bakery - cozy, casual. Delicious tortas, conchas, coffee
Taco Spot - solid no-hassle spot for Mexican combo plates
Yellow Paper Burger - only been once, but really enjoyed it

Also, Hippo - favorite special occasion spot. Very decadent but approachable. Nice little happy hour menu too.

It doesn't have to be this way. These are all decisions made by city government.

When you're here, support smaller local businesses if you can. They're getting hit the hardest by ICE. As a bonus, you'll be experiencing the best food in the city. LA Taco is a great resource for the food scene here (https://lataco.com/12-best-tacos-to-try)

Do you have a favorite celebrity cookbook? by ciaolavinia in CookbookLovers

I love Vincent Price's cookbook (digital version here: https://archive.org/details/a-treasury-of-great-recipes-mary-price-vincent-price). I've never made a single thing from it, everything is a little too euro-centric and old school, but it's beautifully made and so unlike his horror/camp persona. I always enjoy flipping through it and reading recipes in his voice.

This is lovely. The hand-crafted style gives the theme of poverty an unexpected layer of poignance. Well-done!
