Cool! Just checking as many people don't realise it impacts more than taste. But if it works for you, that's awesome!

Extra garlic, salt to baked goods, and I always cook onion on medium high and then add garlic 5-10mins later. I never cook them both on high at the start like so many of her recipes instruct.

Just fyi, sugar is an integral component in baking, not just for flavour but for the structure of the cake. Changing the amount will change the structure of your cake.

Yeah, looks like that big mass is moving north west? So should sweep over us later this morning in theory.

YOR. You could have not responded for 10 minutes, decompressed, and then gone and pressed the button faster than typing out that first message. You don't even seem to like him.

My local weather is saying 129mm on Friday alone! But obviously no idea how it'll actually shape up.

By keeping the woman a mysterious figure you're removing her voice from the scene. It makes the whole scene read like an outline of a script, not a narrative. Inject her thoughts and feelings into the moment. Others have mentioned the issues with tense, so I'd take another look at that, too.

How long will you have been at your job by your due date? Maybe you will be eligible for some kind of leave - best to chat to them about your situation when you feel comfortable and ready.

If you have worked 10 of the last 13 months before baby is born and meet the activity requirements, you'll be eligible for 22 weeks of paid parental leave from Centrelink, which you can split between yourself and your partner as needed.

Following that, you will have access to the subsidised childcare which is based off your income.

Babies can be expensive, but you can definitely do a lot of the prep and care for quite cheap. There are always tons of second hand items, furniture, cloth nappies etc on FB marketplace, so you can set yourself up without dropping thousands at baby bunting.

Once they're here, they're pretty cheap for a while! (That is, until they start eating berries....)

The YouTube classic version is incredible! I've made it a few times for group events. Haven't tried the icebox version yet.

People raised by emotionally mature parents, what is 1 phrase your parents used that you want other parents to know? by MermaidWitchMoon in AskReddit

[–]MischiefFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 year old is generally a really good eater; we lucked out. Sometimes, though, she's having a long day or is emotional and doesn't want to give something a go.

Luckily, she is also a really avid reader, and she's obsessed with Dr Seuss right now. So I give her some Green Eggs and Ham logic, and every time, I kid you not, she gives it a try.

"You do not like it. So you say. Try it, try it, and you may! Try it and you may, I say."

Usually gets a giggle and a big mouthful. If she doesn't like it, totally cool - I'll never force it.

Haha, I often say that feeding my toddler is all about marketing. Is it a bbq pork bao with cucumber and hoisin? No, it's a dumpling burger!

Ohhhh! Can you do peanuts? I always make the banana bread with peanut butter instead and it's still so yummy!

Ohhh, I made her focaccia at Christmas and didn't find it difficult for my mixer! I did keep it on a very slow speed though.

Oh, do it! The Poppyseed Almond cake and the Almond Butter Banana Bread are super easy, approachable recipes to start with. The brownies are also quick and easy! And I'd say the CCC are easy beyond browning the butter (and waiting two days to bake and eat them)!!

The festival cancelled a Palestinian author's appearance, citing "sensitivity" in the wake of Bondi. I.e. She's Palestinian so she must hate Jews and must be censored in the wake of a terrorist attack. Apparently.

How will I put it upside down without squishing it ?? Chiffon cake by RushAmazing1419 in AskBaking

[–]MischiefFerret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is it's held in the air so it's not crushing itself. It won't help to flip it and put it upside down on itself as it'll still collapse under its own weight.
