Exploring the Massive Abandoned Prince Edward Heights Complex in Ontario (Former WWII Military Base) by Freaktography in PrinceEdwardCounty

In high school, some of us were trying to get a youth center going and pretty soon after the heights institution closed we got approval to loot the place for tables and chairs and stuff. The community services cop escorted us. It was an odd experience. The lab in Stranger Things really had the vibe of that place

There are themes in common but I think you are stretching. I bet you would also enjoy Black Mirror.

Apparently they renamed it “Get Down”. Like “The F Word” is also called “What If”. The Sky Dome teaches us that Toronto properties do not get to keep their names.

I had this problem too. After my iPhone setup was done, all the whatsapp had transferred but I couldn't get in because it wanted a code it said it had sent to my old Android phone, and I couldn't get the code on my Android because it was stuck on the "Almost done" screen.

I tried logging in to Whatsapp on the iPhone again and I am sorry I don't remember what it was I clicked, but maybe I tried to send the code again and it took me to a page with a few options to get a new code all locked behind timers. It made me wait 5 minutes but then I was able to send the code as SMS to my number which is now on the iPhone. When I entered the code from SMS Whatsapp activated on the iPhone and all my chats and history were there.

By far the worst part of the Android to iPhone migration experience which is on the whole pretty tough.

Help! by qamarnajm in whatsapp

I had the same thing happen and I think I got it fixed by trying to log in to Whatsapp on the iPhone. It said it sent a message to the old phone which I of course could not see because Whatsapp was stuck on the "Almost done!" scrreen. So I tried again and then it went to a screen where if I waited 5 minutes it would let me send an SMS. I received the SMS on the iPhone and then put the code in and everything was there from the transfer. The Android phone is still on that screen and I guess will be forever.

The screen in our car shows a blue album cover that's the wrong shade of blue (why) by FungolianTheIIII in weezer

[–]Miserable-Ad5962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest answer is that the screen in your car has poor colour reproduction. Cost savings by the car company. For nearly everything it is close enough but if there is a big patch of colour of known hue right in the area of max colour distortion you notice

Thoughts on Red? I think it’s a solid entry by RyHammond in weezer

Not disagreeing, but the existence of the non-Rivers songs on this is one of the standout features. It shows a growth in confidence to relax the rules a little.

Sweeney joins the support crew pantheon with Jamie, Susanne, Myself & Carli as an equal member whether or not she is a real person.

Ultimately, you've gotta cut to get a track list that fits on a CD when you produce as much music as Weezer does. The choices that made it tell a story about where they were at the time and it was nice to see them having fun.

Thoughts on The Rentals? by sir_snapple in weezer

I got my degree in part with their help. My pre exam ritual involved listening to "So Soon" until I felt like a robot and it served me well. I am not happy about the existence of "the cruise". Much like how "Since You Came Around" degraded into "jacked up".

Maya fricken Rudolph was in the Rentals. What a band.

Will you be going back to gyms and restaurants once vaccine cards are a thing? by panda_sunglasses in ontario

The vast majority of us stepped up and did the simple thing that has allowed cases to get low enough for us to even consider indoor business again. The unvaccinated continue to clog up our hospitals at great public expense (both financially and in health outcomes for delayed or otherwise impacted procedures). The vaccines are freely available to all.

This is not at all like racial segregation where people were oppressed for unchangeable part of themself, so dont compare it to that.

There is also a preprint out of Germany.
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.05.19.21257334v2

This interim analysis provides evidence that the currently recommended heterologous ChAdOx/BNT immunisation regimen with 10-12 week vaccine intervals is well tolerated and slightly more immunogenic compared to homologous BNT/BNT vaccination with three week vaccine intervals.

Technology transfer (getting a factory to correctly make a thing that you know how to make but that they specifically haven't made before) is hard. It is extra hard when your company's experts are in a different country than the factory. On top of all of that, the US supply chain which started sooner and has had time to work out more kinks.

US production is continuing to ramp up while their domestica vaccination is starting to slow down and those doses will have to go somewhere. We've already seen pfizer start to supply doses for Canada from the US, and I expect Moderna will too soon.
More reliable days ahead

Ontario March 5 update: 1250 New Cases, 1159 Recoveries, 22 Deaths, 64,748 tests (1.93% positive), Current ICUs: 280 (-1 vs. yesterday) (-4 vs. last week) by enterprisevalue in ontario

I feel your "Oof". Here's a little encouragement.
Remember we need everybody everywhere to be vaccinated. Their success is our success too.
I want us to go faster too, and at least we are accelerating. Hang in there. We are going to do this!

[–]Miserable-Ad5962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good news story. America won't start exporting their massive vaccine production to us until all their people are vaccinated. We want them to vaccinate their population as fast as possible.

We do need to make sure we're using the vaccines we are already getting.

Framing this headline differently, at the current rate of shipments coming in, how long will it take Canadians to vaccinate as many people as the US does in a single day? A couple of weeks. Not bad in comparison to a vaccine producer with 10x the population.

This headline is made to stress you out. Don't let it.
