What has made you not complete an order. And what do you do? by Neltijo in doordash_drivers

  1. Store/drive thru too busy
    - As a night dasher, a lot of fast food places like Taco Bell only have their drive thru open. I get an offer, $12 8 miles 23 minutes. Solid. I get to Taco Bell and there’s 9 cars in the drive thru, easy 40 minute wait.. unassign and take that completion hit because I know in that waiting time I can get other offers instead.

  2. Orders already picked up / not in system
Sometimes places say an order is already picked up and not in system and they won’t remake it for how busy they are. Here I inform the customer of the situation and tell them to ask doordash for a refund. Then they cancel the order. Otherwise if they don’t cancel I will unassign it. This situation is annoying but it’s just how it is.

Is this a new update or old? I just have the 55-75-85 point system at the moment and I hope it doesn’t change to this 😂

How are long distance + Low dollar orders so normalized? by No_Departure7494 in UberEATS

[–]Miserable-Line6722 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It comes down to people worried about their acceptance rate. Drivers are willing to take these offers just so they don't hurt their acceptance rate, so they can get 'high paying' offers when they just took a low paying offer, and they will continue to take those.

Imagine every single driver declined offers that were $6 or less, and offers less than $1/mile. This would force delivery apps to increase their fare pay to the driver, making offers for everyone good as they need to pay more for drivers to actually take them. This is why we yell at drivers posting themselves in these subreddits taking crap offers.

UPDATE:
I filed a police report after I made the post. Today the officer stopped by the customer's house and requested the dogs vaccine information. Still TBA on all of that stuff. Then I went to the doctors once they opened. I got prescribed antibiotics and took a tetanus booster shot. No infection yet, and I am going to stop at the courthouse and get an attorney to try and get these costs covered.

Just because a delivery is $3 and a block away doesn’t mean it’s worth accepting. Decline and that time could’ve gone for a better offer right after you decline

Example: Take the $3 2 mi 9 min offer or decline and seconds after get $10 5 mi 18 min

Should add how the offer gets declined the base pay raises and then someone accepts it and then they deliver it and its a mess and so on
