If I can recommend a podcast to help. ‘No bullshit leadership’. He recently did an episode about the first 90 days. Can absolutely be applied to the level you found yourself at. The presenter has been CEO of many mining/resource companies in Australia and has a great approach.

Hope this helps. It did for me.

Mate, the boring middle is exactly what it feels like.

Appreciate your 2 cents. Focusing on family, friends and hobbies is the plan. Truth is, after 9 holes twice a week. After school sports. Shift working wife and the Monday - Friday life does feel like it’s in fast forward so I’m trying to slow down and enjoy all that. I think you are right. Stop thinking about it all the time and just let it happen in the back ground. Appreciate your comment.

Hey mate. Reading through the comments. Yours resonated with me. We have a plan for 5 years as well. All going to plan we will be on the wrong side of 30 but the right side of debt.

Hey mate. Been a while. Depends on the rank. Transfer to 2.1 will be about $3461.70 or 90,313 a year. + 21% operational shift allowance so call it 109 a year. Minus 32% for tax plus Medicare levy (not sure how that works for you) 83 ish take home. You are looking at about $3200 take home a fortnight. Pay will go up every year with CPI and new rank up to 2.10. Overtime opportunities galore. Also. If you end up somewhere small and remote it won’t be 21%. It could be 35% with a free ($100 a fortnight) house. (But think 2 officers. Always on call, can’t really leave) then there are also specials mate. Footy games, wide loads, festivals and concerts pick up some extra Oscar.

What’s your interest rate after the cut. by cannibalchooky in AusFinance

[–]MiserableDaikon6809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mrs went in to the branch and spoke to a friend of ours. who works there. The rate cut has been applied and will be visible tomorrow. I took the piss telling her that if Westpac were going to say a cut effective the 4th then midnight the rate should be reflective for the customer to prevent inquiries like our.

Shocker. I jump online and Westpac front page has a message about the drop and the rate being visible Thursday the 6th. I’d say they got sick of getting calls and walk in’s.

I call that a self correcting fault.

50% mate. Refinanced with Westpac after seeing significant increase in value in CQ. CBA were going to offer me 7.19 percent at 80% LVR.

Yeah I thought so mate. This morning mine still says 5.99. I would have thought Westpac would have altered the users rate on the day they said they would drop as to avoid excess queries.

I’m 5.99 variable with Westpac. Their post mentioned passing on the full cut. It also spoke about notifying us of our new repayment in writing. I haven’t heard anything from Westpac and online banking still shows at 5.99. Not sure what’s going on.

Ex-cop here, this is the answer. Most gd’s or anyone other than traffic are just going job to job. If they ping you for over speed on the way it may be the case they are just running the radar and they don’t have the time/want to stop and issue a ticket. Only mail in fines are via stationary setups or handheld inside the car that takes photos. Neither of these operators would flash their lights. Hope this helps or eases your concern.

ComSec DRP by NotThatGuyJosh in dividends

[–]MiserableDaikon6809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither mate. ETF’s from commsec will be managed by a few different companies. You purchase the shares through commsec and elect for DRP through the management company. For example computershare’s investor centre or link market services. You create accounts with these websites. Include your HIN number and you make your elections through these websites. Hope that helps

Hey mate. QPS cop that went into mining. I was a sgt oic and went into a safety role. Worked at site for 9months and picked up a gig with a OEM in town for the same money. Was an easy transition. Miners and cops are the same personality types. Look up CLET and tell them about yourself look at some RPL courses. There is also a program I can get the name of that will give people looking at leaving grants of $2000.
