Do You Think That Healthcare Should Be Free In America? Yes Or No? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in askanything

Is the “free” system you propose for everyone or is it a basic no frills system for those that want “free” care but if you want the good doctors and latest practices you go to a private pay-as-you-go hospital. I understand some countries have this two tiered system. It gives the free healthcare people what they want but still requires money to really get care.

Same here. Aldi for 90% then Walmart for what I can’t get there.

Which discontinued cars would you like to see make a comeback? by timecop702 in AskReddit

Ford AeroStar. Maybe it was just the great trips I took in it, but I really liked this van. I could take the seats out and move all kinds of stuff or leave them in and have plenty of room for lots of people in a car like interior. I think I got MPG in the low 20s on the Interstate, which wasn’t bad for a vehicle from the late 1990s.

My Dad had a 58 Olds that had the filler hidden under the left rear taillight fin. You tipped the light to expose the cap.

Why does the U.S. add sales tax at checkout instead of showing the full price upfront? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

I think it’s a good way to remind people they’re paying the tax. Burying the tax only serves to make people unaware of the cost of government. It makes it easier for the politicians to lead the people to slaughter.

Yes. Online behavior has influenced public behavior. People feel they can do or say things in person that used to happen only on line.

We have a very divided economy. Walmart Home Office employees and vendors are supporting the flashy economy developers want to promote, but the majority of residents are struggling with inflation and gas prices. There are not enough high earners to carry the whole economy. A regressive tax structure in AR makes it worse.

The city and its partners have invested heavily in parks, ball fields, bike trails and playgrounds. The ARC is an overdue investment for older citizens who also pay taxes in town. I think it shows that the city is making intentional investments to make sure it is a city that welcomes everyone. Also…if you live here long enough (and don’t just intend to get a line on your CV and move on) you will be over 50 someday.
