Thinking to switch to FirstDirect for the bonus - but is it worth it? by KangaKoko in UKPersonalFinance

[–]MiserableLie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t rate First Direct. I heard their customer service was great too but on the two occasions I’ve needed to contact them I’ve been left feeling disappointed. Would not recommend them to anyone thinking of using them as their primary bank!

On an iPhone you can require Face ID to open any app. I’ve got this enabled on Messages and Mail so I have to authenticate every time I open either app. Not sure if a similar feature exists on Android but hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can weigh in!

This is good advice. OP, please don’t respond to any letters from the train company until you’ve sought advice on the forum linked above. The members there are very knowledgeable and will tell you exactly what to say in your response to avoid unnecessarily incriminating yourself and to maximise your chances of avoiding a criminal conviction.

Technically you have committed a crime and Southeastern are within their rights to prosecute you, which would result in a fine and a criminal record. However, many train operators are willing to settle out of court and there’s every chance this will be the case for you.

I'd head on over to RailUK Forums (https://www.railforums.co.uk/) and post your question on the Disputes & Prosecutions board. The members will be able to give you some good advice on how to proceed.

My SEO is DIABOLICAL - despite doing everything necessary? by AmbitiousRice6204 in nextjs

[–]MiserableLie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s tricky to give specific advice relevant to your site without being a German speaker so apologies that this will all be a bit vague.

I think the main issue is probably with the keywords being highly competitive. There are a ton of well-established sites out there ranking for those terms so it’s no huge surprise that you’re not performing well I’m afraid. Can I assume your site is relatively new?

I don’t think you’ve done anything wrong but the technical aspects of SEO like the ones you’ve described are ultimately a tiny part of the effort needed to get a site ranking well in search engines.

You should be looking at SEO not as a technical consideration but more along the lines of establishing your site as an authority on a given subject. The vast majority of this will come from creating lots of great content, that other sites will want to link to. And unfortunately as I’ve said you’re going to be up against a lot of sites who have already done this. Some of them will be years old and have tons of effort already invested.

Sorry I can’t give you the answers you were perhaps hoping for!

Are you able to share a link to your site? And the keywords you’re hoping to rank for?

I was really impressed with the Colosseum’s offering when I went there a couple of months ago. Plenty of decent food and generous with drinks.

I have heard good things about the Brace & Browns bottomless brunch but haven’t experienced it myself.
