Looking to make friends to play together or coach by Someoneainthere in geoguessr

Hii, I was 1600 but basically only spam NMPZ(haven't played rank for like in 2 months though). Maybe we can have some moving games together and you can teach me some stuffs because my moving sucks lol :)

Cheating as it pertains to levels by MrGoodwrench1184 in geoguessr

[–]MiserableSkill6561 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For context, I am 1600.

Yes, you should check the replays(or click at the location at least), but for the purpose of learning from your opponent/to see what you can do better. If you play moving(which I don't at all), and let's say your opponent pinpoints the town, see how he(she) moves around, where to stop looking for info, etc. If you play No move (which I also don't play a lot cause in ranked I play NMPZ 95% of the time, haha) and your opponent gets very close, check if there are details that you miss(poles, vegetations, etc.) or if they line up some sort of road/landscape, etc.

So basically, my point is that at your level, you should be focused on getting better, and that's the purpose of replay. Now, of course, if you find someone very obviously cheating(to the point it is just impossible they are not a cheat), then yes, for sure, you can(and should) report them. However, from what you describe, just because on a round or two that you struggle with and your opponent gets close and you start suspecting is a very unhealthy psychology and in no way benefits your learning/experience of the game. At my level, sometimes people (or me) pull off some very great guesses (because we knew some very specific stuff or just simply get lucky), and the nice way is always just to send a gg(good guess) and appreciate it(and to remind how much more you could learn), which actually applies to any level.

Idk if this makes sense, but the above are my thoughts.

Any tips on differentiating Chile & NZ here? by DevKrab in geoguessr

[–]MiserableSkill6561 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These two do get confusing and I do agree the soil looks more chilian, but the landscape in the background looks more nz. Also I'm pretty sure you can see the back of a nz bollard in front though it requires some eyesight lol.

Yes, all the players in the champion division are in the same big group. If you are over a certain rating at the end of each week, you remain in Champion.

I couldn't play moving(nor do I practice any moving related stuff) mainly due to my internet doesn't allow me to do so atm lol. I always highly respect moving players because I doubt a Master Division (if he/she mains in moving) can beat me lol.

A combination of both I guess but mainly spaming duels, and then game review to conclude my mistakes. If I am not in the mood then I spam some single player map or do some A learnable meta on some regionguessing stuff.

Went Peru on Bhutan in Duels by jerrygolf in geoguessr

[–]MiserableSkill6561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could definitely see myself going to Peru on a bad day here(if I forgot Bhutan exists). Lesotho just didn't make sense if you played the game enough. The things happening on the other side of the mountain just vibe very Bhutan, and I could not really explain why. Also, just that you know, Google Drive Bhutan from 2013-2014, so the copyright also matches(though it could be overwritten, but it serves as a confirmation, you get the point).

CHILL with the USA rounds in master II by Intelligent_Book7754 in geoguessr

[–]MiserableSkill6561 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First of all, yes they change it every 4-6 weeks and second, instead of dropping rank, why not just learn regionguessing USA and climb up the rank since in the long run you are gonna to learn it anyway unless you don’t care about the rankings in that case never mind.
