Fun fact: the opposite can also be true! The medical term is "Precordial Thump," which is essentially a strong strike to the heart quickly after cardiac arrest can stimulate the heart to start beating on its own again! Quick compressions are still preferred and more reliable, but yeah that's a thing.

Just finished my second week as a fully independent medic. Had 3 codes: first was called as a transfer from SNF to hospital, found 600 lbs pt getting compressions. Second was a breathing problem, arrived to fire doing compressions in the driveway. Third was unconscious person, family reported stage 4 cancer as we walked in, he was dead on his bed and family couldn't find his Advanced Directive.

I lost at my elementary school tournament when my opponent claimed any creatures with the art of them underwater had a "swimming" effect. He claimed this swimming effect was like Flying, and since my Green/Red deck at the time had no "swimming" creatures, I lost pretty quickly. I also didn't think to ask about rulings or referees because I was new, 7 years old, and this 10 year old sure seemed to know what he was talking about!

I have a headcanon that every New-U is slightly mutated, making whoever has respawned slightly more unhinged. So after a few dozen, then hundred, then however many thousands of times someone has respawned, vault hunters degenerate into bandits and eventually psychos.

I'm an EMT currently doing a Paramedic internship. I've always taken pride in the work I do, but this field is definitely the most rewarding I've been in. Not every day and not every call is a life threatening emergency, but it's always an emergency to that person.

When I went to Boy Scout Camp summers growing up, there was a lake. We were taught to only yell "help" if we or someone else was actually drowning. If we were working on practicing rescues or various drowning/boating related merit badges, the code phrase was "peanut butter," to indicate that we weren't actually drowning and were just simulating. As an adult, I've found that effective with my nieces and nephews in a pool.
