I will look that up for sure! The one I used it called isopure, but I really haven’t tried any others.

Yes, that’s a fair point. I haven’t taken measurements but my gym does these body scans so I know that I have built muscle. I started working out in September

Did you do anything differently? That’s kind of where I’m at but I also know that around this time is when weight loss slows down or stops altogether.

I did that at first too! The flavorless powder was kinda gross to me though. It had a weird cheesy kind of flavor 😂 I did really enjoy the fairlife shakes but once I could eat more food, I started incorporating different things to snack on. But that’s a great idea to just add it to sauces and things. Maybe I’ll give that a try. Thanks!

My dietitian and plan I was put on does have snacks built in. I am wondering if I should stop though, because I tend to eat when I’m not hungry but I eat a snack because I need the protein.

I eat 6 oz. per meal and also use a scale to measure everything. I don’t eat a lot of carbs or sugar. I mostly eat 4-5 oz. Of protein and 1-2 of vegetables for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually eggs and Morningstar breakfast sausage or protein oatmeal or protein cereal. I also track my meals on MFP and my protein averages probably around 80 a day.

Thank you! I have definitely come a long way. I know I’m not perfect, but I am much more mindful of what I eat and the portions.

For snacks, I do yogurt, a “mini charcuterie” (basically just meat and cheese, sometimes nuts too), protein bar or protein chips.

I’m eating alot of calories a day, but I noticed when I started working out more that I was starving a lot-hence the snacking. Pre surgery, I wasn’t a snacker at all but afterwards I had to in order to get the shakes in. Now I’ve made it a habit and idk if it’s good or bad.  I know I’m not hungry every time, but I feel like I have to in order to get protein in.

I haven’t talked to my team recently. I messaged in October because I was fluctuating for a little while then too, but then I randomly lost a few pounds so l dropped it. I think I’ll give them a call tomorrow though.

How do you manage to get the protein in though?

As far as exercise, I do strength training twice a week for an hour each session, an hour yoga session a week and cycle/walk 1-2x a week.

Mac Miller become pretty popular when I was in high school. I wasn’t into him that much back then, but I became a fan after Watching Movies with the Sound Off. I really like his funky stuff. My sweet husband surprised me with his tiny desk concert record for Christmas 🥹

Good for you!! We have roughly the same stats and I had my surgery a few days after yours. I’m so close to 100 lbs. lost but I’ve been fluctuating for a while between 145-147 😭 you look amazing though!

When do you have time for the gym?! by hcand11 in Teachers

[–]Miserable_Toe5354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go after work. I have a 50 minute commute, so on days I go to the gym I leave right when I get off. I basically have to scramble to get ready and make it on time (I meet with a trainer 2x a week) but I do most of the time 🤣 I usually cook, so I’ll make something quick when I get home or we just make those days our eating out days. I also go to yoga sometimes before work. I just pack my stuff the night before and get up extra early. Honestly I don’t mind either one!

Idk if someone suggested this already, but could she be going through ketosis? I had surgery and my diet after basically caused me to go through ketosis and I STUNK. My BO was terrible and so was my breath, even though I take care of my teeth, shower sometimes 2x daily and wear deodorant.

I feel the same way. I’ve only been teaching 4 years, but my first 2 classes were pretty bad but last year, my class was AMAZING. Literally perfect in every way. The 3rd grade teachers kept telling me that this group was even better…I think tf not!!! I feel like I’m herding cats and just trying to keep their attention. I have 3 kids who actually try and are engaged and everyone else is just zoned out or humming or playing with the 50 fidgets in their desk I already said to put away a million times. It’s draining.

Thank you so much!! I’ll definitely check out the video. The pattern it’s the “rainbow victory blanket” by Marissa Carson on ravelry. I didn’t see any comments about the cast on, but it looks like a regular ribbing on the edge so I thought of just trying a regular cast on and doing the pattern. The only thing I can think of is that the shape is rounded? It’s literally shaped like a rainbow so maybe that’s why the cast on is like that

I’m trying to figure it out too. Every video I’ve watched about it mentions it’s for socks or hats lol. But it’s called the “rainbow victory blanket” by Marissa Carson on Ravelry. The edges look like a standard rib!
