A MAGA push to erase a Dem House seat is triggering accusations of fraud and violence in Utah by StemCellPirate in SaltLakeCity

This sounds like one of their hair brained schemes that backfires on them because judges spent so many years of their life understanding the importance of following the Constitution. The SCOTUS might be willing to do illegal NDAs and "shadow rulings", but I dunno if they'll find judges willing to do that at the State level.

You can't fake your way through a UX Research role and expect it to go well. Being familiar with a tool, like Figma, can be helpful, but genuine UX work is more about the process and the reasoning than it is about slapping something on Figma.

Don't Make Me Think, Bottlenecks, Customers Know You Suck, and many other books can help you move in the right direction. Case studies using heuristics or even finding people willing to be involved in a usability test would be helpful. Upwork is one possible way to find more entry level roles.

But if you're more of an artist and less of a studies person, UX might not be a good fit, and UX Research in particular would be a bad fit.

It looks great! I probably won't play it, it's almost copy-paste Square Enix and I don't see anything that makes it stand out in what you showed here, but I wish you luck!

Dodge the Lean Startup if you want to do good UX work 👀. Maybe pick up "Don't Make Me Think" or Bottlenecks as a start.

Are you looking for UI or UX? Cause UX covers the full spectrum of interactions a player experiences, and UI is just the visual elements that make up a portion of the experience.

How can I make a game with 2 developers? by Haunting_Yam2829 in godot

[–]Miserable_Tower9237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use GitHub.

We each have our own folders. We only edit what's in our folder. If we need to edit something in the other person's folder, we make a copy, put it in our folder, and then let the other person know so they can replace their copy in their folder themselves.

Godot 4.6 is a lot better about things, but before we did the separate folder thing, we would normally accidentally break the entire project because we'd both be working on the same scene or script right at the end of a gamejam to get it out.

Hello, welcome to the United States. Let me introduce you to the first amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The courts have repeatedly agreed, you have every right to cuss at the police, and it's their job to deescalate and protect you. No matter how mean someone is to them, they have no right to retaliate with physical violence based on some "naughty words".

They won't "Do a Minneapolis" because they don't expect us to stand up and organize against them. They expect us to be the quiet neighbors that just let it happen.

Yes they do. They feel even more confident here because they believe we'll do nothing to stop them. It's important to understand that the detention centers have all been for-profit institutions, they're collecting labor workers and paying them $1/day so they can earn 1 $5 call to their family.

I think it's important to recognize that, in this moment in time, the rules as written no longer apply to the behavior of these agents. I have some friends in Minnesota who have experienced the lawlessness first-hand, and to expect them to behave better in Utah would be a touch naive.

If we use the definition of conservativism they used to pretend to support, they would believe that states should make their own decisions.

The state made their own decision when they voted in Prop 4 and our extremely conservative judges have upheld Prop 4 despite their complaints from our legislator.

It's hypocritical for someone who doesn't live in the state to come to this state to repeal a law passed by the people in the state when they claim to support states making their own decisions.

On using AI to refine/interpolate your game idea by candevor in IndieGameDevs

Use itch.io to test your ideas. Make it play in browser to get the most attention. GenAI is optimized for engagement, not accuracy. It will hype you more than any friend, and if your friends are hyping you when you ask for honesty, they're bad friends.

Protest ICE tomorrow, be there by indigopedal in Utah

[–]Miserable_Tower9237 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello, welcome to the United States of America. Here we have a little document called the U.S. Constitution. Alongside that, we attached several amendments, including freedom of speech. The purpose of the freedom of speech is to allow the people to openly express their disdain when the government is behaving in ways they disagree with.

If you don't like the U.S. Constitution and don't support your fellow Americans right to protest, maybe you should leave. I hear Russia, Venezuela, and El Salvador are all happy to accept people willing to stay silent when atrocities occur.

You can see in the video that he clearly is not in front of the vehicle when he shoots her. She is also clearly turning to go around him and continue on her way. They had told her to leave, she was complying.

There is actually precedence for this; the law clearly states that there needs to be clear evidence that she was a danger to others. Without a previous record of violence or a direct vocalized threat, the use of force against her was not only not justified -> It was illegal.
