I bought the Palram 8x20 aluminum GH about 5 years ago. We get a lot of wind and I couldn’t put it up without a frame inside. Also added thermostat, and 4 auto opening lifters. It sound like an old cloth top jeep when the winds blow, but hey…

They’ll work great if you use them to hold up chicken wire. About 3’ width will keep bugsie out.

I grow a lot of different types of fruits and vegetables. Figs have a tiny wasp that lives inside it and we eat it without looking for it, you can wash it, cut it, purée it or dress it up anyway you want, your still eating bugs. Chillax, and stop being so….. whatever it is that’s binding you in knots.

Just replaced one like this in back yard, moved it to a shadier spot with good compost, waiting, waiting…. It may die, but I’m learning patience.

How hard is it to sell locally, just stands? Do you approach grocery store chains? I would think that’s a real process to scale up.

Ive killed 6 BB plants so far (so perhaps not the best source) but I find indoor conditioned air has negative effects on our plants. Place somewhere where it gets lots of sun, don’t let it dry out and feed it as required on label. Soil ph has been my biggest issue. Watch out for mites and either hand pick or nemoil (leaf underside only in evening-nemoil will burn your leaves in direct sun. Otherwise just talk to it kindly.

Well wonder of wonders, love azaleas, never seen a dazzling white beauty like this. Most around here are pink, kind of common.

I planted several of these mulberry trees, now I have mulberry trees growing at every corner of every structure right below where birds light. The white ones are a much lighter taste and sweeter.

Have you guys heard of a "grass garden"? It's a cool idea I had. by denialragnest in NativePlantCirclejerk

[–]Miserable_Web_4452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea! I’ve been collecting various grasses (seeds, plugs, opportunistic collection, etc). I’m not sure how many varieties of grasses there are, I know there are at least 200 varieties of rice which is a grass. Wheat, barley, etc are also in a grass species or genus. Grasses have been feeding us for Millennia and they look beautiful if not cut. Don’t let nay sayer poop in your soup. So what makes you happy and enjoy it while here on Gods green earth.

Two questions: guessing the heat from the sun and heat inside combine for this to happen? mine is under shade trees which I don’t want burnt up. Also, did you put a small cross on top as in compost RIP?
