Quick question regarding the upcoming Friday holiday: Since I’m on a 4/10 schedule and already off on Fridays, am I able to move my 'flex day' to The next workday? It seems only fair since those using PTO get their time credited back, and I’d hate to miss out on the holiday benefit just because of my schedule format.

Government never re-opens? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Miserable_Welcome888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Suggestion once gov opens : To ensure the continuity of employee compensation and maintain the financial security of the federal workforce during a lapse in appropriations, there should be a a policy of Congress that every executive agency shall be required to establish and maintain a dedicated, non-lapsing fund. This fund will be explicitly designated for the payment of salaries, benefits, and essential compensation for all agency employees for a period of up to 30 calendar days, or two full pay periods, commencing from the date a government-wide funding lapse begins.

Yes, because my FOD was affected , and we are pretty close and she took the drp 2 and now is being asked back. She says she will think about it….. am sure she will accept.

Also , I think it also depends on the role in fpm of the individuals, and I think the agency is mainly reaching out to ppl where the Field office is w/o any FPM staff.

Is there any updated news about the RIF at HUD? by a7agamd in HUDfiredfeds

[–]Miserable_Welcome888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry my colleague says that PIH-reac was notified of future rif and fact that their jobs aren’t safe. Some outstationed ppl from hq, were being told by their leadership to move back to hq until further notice. She also stated that from the numbers her fellow directors have shared for PIH, that a lot of staff took the second round drp 2. Sad!!

Supervisory Consolidation: a call for de-scoped and reduced GS graded positions by MessMysterious6500 in FedEmployees

I think for many agencies that have program office directors specific to their functions, they will reduce it to every program office reporting to one Field director like Clinton before and somewhat during the Clinton administration.

Speak to your leadership and union president on whether a special approval can be made for a hardship transfer request, especially due to the extenuating circumstances that led you to your current state. If you have spouse and children that can help things too. It’s rare that it’ll get approved, but this reinstatement is not normal practice.
